Owen F. Williams
May 15, 1911 ~ December 19, 2004


Graveside service for Owen F. Williams, age 93, of Chickasha, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at the Fairlawn Cemetery. Rev. Johnny Wray will officiate.

Mr. Williams was born the son of James R. Williams and Addie Farley Williams on May 15, 1911, in Tennessee. He died on December 19, 2004, in Chickasha.

Owen grew up in Dunlap, Tennessee. He married Ova Ewton while in Dunlap, and to this union six children were born. In 1939, Owen moved to Verden where he farmed and ginned cotton.

He also drove the Verden school bus. Owen later moved to Texas, where he was in the cotton gin industry until retiring in 1982. He eventually moved to the Lillie Mae Retirement Center in Chickasha, where he enjoyed dominoes and the company of his fellow residents for fourteen years. For the past year, Owen resided at the Grace Living Centery.

Ova preceded him in death in 1996. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, one daughter, Jean McDaniels, and one grandson, Brandon Williams.

Survivors include brother, Ray Williams of Indianola; son, Lenard Williams of Newalla; daughter, Ruby Roler of Pauls Valley; son, Dick Williams of Chickasha; daughter, Janice Stemm of Verden; daughter, Betty Miller of Blanchard; 14 grandchildren 31 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; very special friend, Flora Pennell; numerous nieces and nephews.
