© Ferguson Funeral Home Chickasha, Oklahoma Sunday, June 10, 2012 Arcie P. `Butch' Williams III January 14, 1949 ~ June 10, 2012 Funeral services will be held for Arcie P. `Butch' Williams III, 63, of Chickasha at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Brent Campbell and Chuck Patterson officiating. Arcie P. Williams was born in Chickasha on January 14, 1949, the son of Arcie P. `June' Williams II and Lavana J. Clark Williams. He died on Sunday, June 10, 2012, in Chickasha. Butch was raised in Alex by his grandparents and graduated from Alex High School. He attended college at Cameron in Lawton for some time before enlisting in the Marines and serving in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge he returned to school at Cameron. He married Janice Rhodes on September 17, 1971, in Chickasha and to that union their two children were born. He went to work in the oilfield in 1974 for Sun which later became Oryx and then Kerr-McGee. He retired in 1998. Butch loved sports and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. In his spare time he enjoyed shooting guns and catfishing on the river. He loved taking the family to Branson when the kids were younger. He started cooking as a hobby after retirement and was very good at it. He enjoyed sharing his culinary creations with his friends and neighbors. He loved to spend time with his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: both parents; paternal grandparents, A.P. `Ples' Williams & Gillie Williams; and maternal grandparents, Rena & Raymond LaGrange. Survivors include: wife, Janice Williams of the home; son, Bryan Williams & wife Tina of Chickasha; daughter, Mandy Williams of Oklahoma City; sister, Teresa Brandon & husband James of Alex; brother-in-law, Jerry Rhodes & wife Kathy of Chickasha; one half-brother and two half-sisters; four grandchildren, Blake, Conner, Blayze, and Braxton; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and one close cousin, Barney Williams. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
