© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Monday, October 19, 1998 January 28, 1906 ~ October 16, 1998 Graveside service for Melvin Webb, 92, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, 1998, at the Fairlawn Cemetery. Melvin Webb was born January 28, 1906, in Byars, Okla., the son of John Fred and Minnie [Taylor] Webb, and died Friday, October 16, 1998, in Chickasha. Mr. Webb and Almeta Carpenter were married May 21, 1928, in Waurika, Okla. They moved to Chickasha from Waurika in 1942. Mr. Webb was retired from the City of Chickasha. He was a member of the Cavalry Baptist Church. Mr. Webb was preceded in death by wife, Almeta Webb in 1997; two daughters, Evelyn Webb and Melva Sue Webb; his parents; three brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include one son, Paul Webb and wife, Susan, of Richwood, Texas; one daughter, Carole Colton and husband, Art, of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Sherilyn Reeder of Oklahoma City and Dana Phillips of Oklahoma; one grandson, Jason Horrell of Breckenridge, Texas; one sister, June Knepper of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Sunday, November 23, 1997 November 13, 1910 ~ November 21, 1997 Graveside services for Almeta Webb, 87, of Chickasha, will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 24, 1997, at Fairview Cemetery in Chickasha. Almeta Webb was born November 13, 1910, in Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William Samuel and Nora Evelyn [Daley] Carpenter. Mrs. Webb died Friday, November 21, 1997, in Chickasha. Mrs. Webb had lived in Chickasha for over 60 years. She had worked at the Dixie and out of her home as a seamstress. She and William Melvin Webb were married in May of 1927. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Evelyn Webb Worlin and several brothers. Survivors include her husband, William Melvin Webb, of Chickasha; one son, Paul Webb, of Richwood, Texas; one daughter, Carole Gerlach, of Oklahoma City; one sister, Lela Davis, of Chickasha; and three grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
