James Everett Watson
May 26, 1931 ~ July 14, 2007


James Everett Watson was born in Verden, Oklahoma on May 26, 1931 to Samuel Everett Watson and Ura Venus [Stewart] Watson. Mr. Watson passed away on July 14, 2007 at Baptist Integris hospital from complications of leukemia.

Mr. Watson was well known in the automobile business; having co-owned Pullen-Watson Chrysler Plymouth for several years and later going with the accounting division as a comptroller of GM dealership. He was nominated outstanding business manager for many years. Mr. Watson was also a member of the United States Army Reserve.

At the age of 11 years, he met the girl next door! They went to school together, they went their separate ways, then one beautiful day she wandered into the dealership to purchase a new car. His later response was "If he had known he was going to help pay for it, he would have made her a better deal".

James and Teddy Jo Ann were married on July 3, 1959. They have three beautiful daughters, five marvelous grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

James and Teddy Jo Ann are faithful members of Deer Creek Church of Christ. Before moving to Oklahoma City, they worshipped at Southern Oaks Church of Christ, Chickasha, Oklahoma.

They owned and operated Jim-Jo Acres east of Chickasha where they raised registered quarter horses. They received state, national and world honors.

Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Everett Watson in 1933; his mother, Ura Venus Watson Stapleton in 1973; his dad John E. Stapleton in 1968; his sister, Melba Beatrice Ratcliff in 1992.

He is survived by his wife Teddy Jo Ann of 48 years; three daughters; Carla L. Robey Harcourt [Michael] of Oklahoma City; Dara Lynn Robison [David] of Piedmont; Jamie Ruth Feroli [John] of Ardmore; five grandchildren; Darenda Lee Sylvester [Jaron], Bart Jay Robey [Shawnae], Darrelyn DeAnn Phillips, Johnna JoAnn Feroli, Colton James Watson Feroli, and one great-granddaughter, Alaura Dannon Litson; one brother Orval L. Watson of Lafayette, LA; three sisters; Nadean Johnson of Dothan, AL; Vaughndalee Willard of Ardmore, Anita Gaye Barrett [J.M.] of Haysville, KS.

There will be visitation on Monday July 16, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sevier's Chickasha Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Deer Creek Church of Christ at northwest 178th and MacArthur.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
