© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Monday, December 4, 2006 December 30, 1910 ~ December 1, 2006 Funeral service for Bertha Mae Watson age 95 of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held 1:30 pm Tuesday December 5, 2006 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Bertha Watson was born December 30, 1910 at Corum, Oklahoma the daughter of Lee A. Nigh and Maude [Henington] Nigh. She died Friday December 1, 2006 in Oklahoma City. She lived in the Duncan area until near the age of nine when her family moved to Chickasha where she attended school at Union Hill. Later she attended school at Pocasset, graduating from the Pocasset High School in 1928. She was a graduate of OCLA formerly OCW of Chickasha. She was an Elementary School Teacher for a number of years, retiring in 1972. She taught at Pleasant Valley, Oak Hill, Pocasset and Verden. She married Allen Watson December 23, 1933. They lived in the rural Pocasset-Dutton area for 43 years. They retired from their farming activities and moved to Chickasha in 1976. He preceded her in death May 24, 1989. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Chickasha. Four brothers also preceded her in death: Robert Nigh, Benny Nigh, James Nigh and John Nigh. Survivors include: two sisters: Lorene Hill and husband Gilbert of Oklahoma City; Thelma Holland of Edmond; Many Nieces and Nephews. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
