Chickasha, Oklahoma October 2015 June 17, 1937 ~ October 8, 2015 Graveside service for Joe Elmon Wallis, 78, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Chickasha will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 in the Fairlawn Cemetery north of Chickasha. Rev. David Thompson will officiate. Joe Elmon Wallis was born the son of Harry Arthur Wallis and Clara Bea Houchin Wallis on June 17, 1937 in Blanchard, OK. He died on October 8, 2015 in Oklahoma City. Joe lived most of his life in Chichasha. He served in the U.S. Navy for five years on the USS Yorktown before working for the FAA in Oklahoma City from which he retired. He volunteered at the Chickasha Emergency Food Pantry for 7 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Chickasha. As his health failed from Parkinson's he and his wife Nathalene, whom he married on May 13, 2006, moved to a retirement area in south Oklahoma City in August, 2014. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Clara Wallis, his sister Anna Belle Sanders and the mother of his three children. Joe is survived by: wife Nathalene Wallis; one sister, Idella Courtright; two sons, Dennis Wallis and wife Kathy and Greg Wallis and wife Rhonda; one daughter Kim Waltman and husband Robert; two grandsons Chad Wallis and Kevin Wallis; two granddaughters Kayla Pratt and Jamie Weber; two great-grandsons Christopher and Isaac Weber; three step-children Larry Black, Janet Nimer and Tammy Messer; eight step-grandchildren, Tana Weld, Morgan Black, Justin Wheeler, Jacob Messer, James Messer, Sharif Nimer, Faris Nimer and Zayn Nimer; five step great-grandchildren Cash, Rhett and Knox Weld and Jackson and Easton Wheeler. Food donations may be taken to the Emergency Food Pantry at the First Presbyterian Church, 428 S. 6th St, Chickasha or cash donations may be mailed to the Chickasha Emergency Food Pantry, P.O. Box 1203, Chickasha, OK 73023, in Joe's name. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. |

Rev. David Thompson will officiate. Bobbi Wallis was born the daughter of Joe Chapman and Marie Johnson Chapman on January 13, 1940, in Pocasset, Oklahoma. She died on June 12, 2005 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. During her life, they lived in Albuquerque, Oklahoma City and later moved back to Chickasha. Bobbie was a loving person who thoroughly enjoyed caring for children. Throughout her life, she cared for several generations of families. Bobbi was also a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who dearly loved her family. She also loved and was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Chapman. Survivors include her husband, Joe Wallis of the home; son and wife, Greg & Rhonda Wallis of Chickasha; daughter and husband, Kimberly & Robert Waltman of Chickasha; mother, Marie Chapman of Chickasha; sister, Wanda Albright of Chickasha; sister and husband, Loretta & Bill Palmer of Cushing; sister and husband, Donna & Dale Martin of Pocasset; granddaughter and husband, Jamie Jo & Brian Weber of Edmond; grandson, Chad Wallis of Edmond; grandchildren, Kayla & Kevin Wallis of Chickasha; great grandson, Christopher Weber of Edmond. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
