© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Tuesday, May 2, 2006 February 18, 1927 ~ May 1, 2006 Funeral service for Gwendine Vogel, age 79 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2006, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kim Domnick will officiate and Rev. Don Horton will assist. Gwendine Vogel was born the daughter of Benjamin and Dona J. Vogel on February 18, 1927, in Union City, Oklahoma. She died on May 1, 2006, in Chickasha. Gwendine graduated from Union City High School in 1945. After attending U.S.A.O. (formerly OCW) for two years, majoring in art, she transferred to Tulsa University, then graduated from OSU in 1950 with a Bachelor of fine arts degree. Gifted with artistic talent, Gwendine then was employed by Hallmark Greeting Card CO. in Kansas City. She returned to Oklahoma due to health reasons. Gwendine continued drawing and was grateful for her talent. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: sister: Donna Marie Boevers of Vinita; twin sister: Aline McMahan of Chickasha; niece & husband: Pam & Jim Powers of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; niece & husband: Patricia & Duane Williams of Allen, Texas; niece & husband: Janet & John Shaw of Vinita; nephew: William McMahan of Chickasha; nephew: Bennie Boevers of Vinita; great nieces, great nephews & cousins. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mcrayfuneral.com |
