Underwood, 70, of 1801 Dakota died at 7:30 a.m. today at a Chickasha hospital after a brief illness. Born April 16, 1889 in Arlington, Tex., Underwood moved to Oklahoma, settling near Davis and had lived in Chickasha since 1935. During his residence in Chickasha he was an agent with the American National Insurance Company until his retirement in 1954. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois Underwood; two sons, Richard C. Underwood, Syracuse, N. Y. and William H. Underwood, Jr. Oklahoma City; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Sue McDaniel, Muskogee; two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Sallee, Roswell, N. M. and Mrs. L. T. Guppy, Muskogee; two brothers, Charles N. Underwood, McCaney, Tex., and Claude Underwood, Rush Springs; five grandchildren. Rev. Robert Smith, minister of Epworth Methodist Church will conduct the funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Sevier's Chickasha Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery. |
