© The Chickasha Express-Star Friday, December 16, 2005 Sunday, December 18, 2005 January 17, 1918 ~ December 15, 2005 Funeral service for Johnnie Melvin Trammell age 87 of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday December 17, 2005 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Johnnie Melvin Trammell was born January 17, 1918 at Fletcher, Oklahoma. He was the son of George Washington Trammell and Minnie May Compton. He died Thursday December 15, 2005 in Chickasha. Mr. Trammell was raised east of Ninnekah by the Gumbo Lake. He attended Vaughn School. At the age of 16 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. [CCC] where he lived and worked from 1934 until 1937. From 1937 until he was drafted into the US Army in 1942 he did construction work in various places including California, Texas and Oklahoma. He served in the US Army for 3 years and 9 months during World War II. He was in the 13th Field Artillery battery B in the 24th Division. He made 5 beach landings, 2 in New Guinea and 3 in the Philippines. He was discharged in 1945 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He met Earline McMasters of Chickasha on her birthday Christmas Day 1945. They married August 9, 1946 in Chickasha. He owned and operated Trammell Construction from 1946 until his retirement in 1982. He had a passion for quail hunting, enjoyed camping, boating and family trips. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: His wife Earline Trammell of the home in Chickasha; One daughter: Brenda Ryans and husband Wesley, of Ninnekah; Two sons: Johnny Trammell and wife Debbie of Chickasha; Mark Trammell of Chickasha; One brother: Marvin Trammell of Alamo, Texas; One sister: Geraldine Harding of Ohio; Two grandsons: Josh Ryans and wife Jessica of Ninnekah; and Jordan Ryans; One great grandson Jace Ayden Ryans. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Thursday, May 14, 2009 ~ Friday, May 15, 2009 July 9, 1949 ~ May 13, 2009 Funeral for David Roy Trammell, age 59 of Chickasha, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2009, in the Grand Assembly of God Church. Rev. Leon McDowell will officiate and Rev. Edward Whitley will assist. David Roy Trammell was born the son of Lee Roy Trammell and Dorothy Helen Jones Trammell on July 9, 1949, in Chickasha. He died on May 13, 2009, in Oklahoma City. David Roy Trammell graduated from Chickasha High School. He married Cathy Faulkinberry on September 3, 1969, in Wichita Falls, Texas and they made their home in Chickasha. In 1979, he became a pastor and moved to Tishomingo, Oklahoma. During thirty years as a pastor, he ministered in Tishomingo, McLoud and Chickasha as well as other communities. He was currently the pastor at the Tabler Gospel Tabernacle. In addition to pastoring, he worked as an accomplished carpenter and operated rental property. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Trammell, step-father, Levi Franklin, brother, Daryl Trammell, sister, Virginia Trammell, Grandma and Grandpa Jones, and Grandma and Grandpa Trammell. Survivors include: Wife: Cathy Trammell of the home, Daughter and Husband: Ronette and Bobby Wallace of Edmond, Son and Wife: David Lee Roy and Carmalita Trammell of Chickasha, Son and Wife: Christopher and Brandy Trammell of Edmond, Grandchildren: Hudson Ingram, Jessica Ingram, Levi Trammell, Grant Trammell, Collin Trammell, Carson Trammell, Harrison Trammell, Roman Trammell, and Sorella Trammell, Mother: Dorothy Franklin of Chickasha, Brother: Denny Trammell of Chickasha, Brother and Wife: Dan and Tammie Trammell of Chickasha, Brother and Wife: Don and Mary Trammell of Chickasha, Sister and Husband: Diana and Davey Miller of Rush Springs, Brother and Wife: Doug and Cheryl Trammell of Rush Springs, Sister and Husband: Lee Ann and Scotty Williams of Marlow, Sister: Claudette Franklin, Sister: Valerie Franklin, Brother: Terry Franklin, Host of Nieces, Nephews, other Family and Friends. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. |
