© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma February 25, 1971 February 24, 1893 ~ February 20, 1971 Funeral service for George Tims, 77, Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 am Friday in the Chapel of Brown's Funeral Home. Mr. Tims died Tuesday night in Grady Memorial Hospital. He was born February 24, 1893, in Grady, Okla. He came to Chickasha 45 years ago from Rush Springs where he was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Wilton Tims, Chickasha; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Stewart, Oklahoma City; four brothers, Will and D. A. Tims, Rush Springs, Frank and C. W. Tims, Marietta; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Godbehere, Lawton, Mrs. Maude Jones, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Roma Martin, Roswell, N. M.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. |

"Jack" Tims, 74, 1701 Mississippi, Chickasha, was held at 2:30 pm today, Monday, June 11, 1990, in First Christian Church. Rev. Charles Roberts officiated. Russell Long officiated at the Masonic Rites. Organist was Dorothy Everly and soloist was Steve Wentz. Casket bearers were Stephen McCalla, Gregg Cook, Dave Edwards, Kurley Hunter, T. R. Blades, Cleal Andrews. Mr. Tims was born on December 29, 1915, northeast of Rush Springs, the son of John William and Catherine [Speyers] Tims. He died Saturday, June 9, 1990, at Chickasha. On Aug. 3, 1941, Jack married J. Fern Hastings in Amber. Mr. Tims was a member of First Christian Church and the 20th Century Sunday School Class and had served as an elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a 50 year member and past master of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Tulsa Consistery and served as chairman of board for the Masonic Homes in Guthrie. He was a veteran of World War II, past president of the Chickasha Rodeo Association, past president of Chickasha Fin and Feather Club, a charter member of the Chickasha B.P.O.E. 2125, and an active supporter of DeMolay, Boy Scouts and Little League organizations. Mr. Tims worked for 10 years for Superior Oil Company and 25 years as field superintendent for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, retiring in 1981. Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Fern, of the home; two sons, Timothy B. Tims of Chickasha, Dr. William E. Tims of Fayetteville, Ark.; two brothers, J. E. Tims of Chickasha, R. E. Tims of Marietta; one sister, Annie Lewis of Ft. Sumner, N.M.; and six grandchildren. Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home. |

Tims, 89, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Fern H. Tims, 89, of Chickasha, will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Larry Hatfield officiating. Fern H. Tims was born on March 17, 1915, in Duncan, Oklahoma, the daughter of Amos Hastings and Rena Stephens Hastings. She died Sunday, June 13, 2004, in Chickasha. Fern came to the Amber area as a young child. She attended and graduated from Amber Public Schools. She then continued her education at OCW and Oklahoma Uniersity, where she obtained her master's degree in education. She taught school in Amber, Pioneer, Verden, Pocasset, and Chickasha, until her retirement in 1978. Fern married Jack Tims on August 3, 1941, in Amber, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and CWF. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Tims, both parents, and two sisters; Prebble McCalla, and LaVon [Sal] Hastings.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law; Tim and Denise Tims of Chickasha, and Bill and Carol Tims of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one sister, Joy Cook, of Chickasha; and one brother and sister-in-law, J. W. and Winifred Hastings, of Amber; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |

April 30, 1944 ~ March 27, 2009 Funeral service for Howard M. Tims, age 64 of Chickasha Oklahoma will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday March 31, 2009 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. HOWARD M. TIMS was born April 30, 1944 in Clarendon,Texas. He was the son of Alfred and LaVerne [Franks] Tims. He died Friday March 27, 2009 in Chickasha. He had served in the Oklahoma National Guard for over 12 years. Howard and Paula Rodgers were married in 1973, they had one daughter, Joanie. Howard had lived in Chickasha and the surrounding area all of his life. He was a retired auto mechanic. His parents, one brother Gary Tims, one sister Janis Bondhis niece Meagan Bond and nephew Nathan Bond preceded himin death. Survivors include: one daughter, Joanie McDonald and husband Heath; one sister, Kathy Brady; two grand children: Haydn McDonald and Ava McDonald; father in law: George Rodgers; nephews: Tony Koehler and family, Tim Koehler and family, Dustin Bond and family Gareth Bond and family and Adam Murphy and family; Nieces: Erin Koehler and family, Holly Bates and family and Valerie Franklin. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home |

Tims, 54, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2007 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Garyth Alfred Tims was born October 5, 1952 in Chickasha, Oklahoma the son of Alfred C. and LaVerne J. [Franks] Tims and died December 31, 2006 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Gary grew up in Chickasha. He lived in New York City from 1975-1990 before moving back to Chickasha. Gary worked for over 15 years at the First National Bank of Chickasha and was presently Human Resource Director and Vice President. Gary was a member of the Chickasha Community Theater. He was instrumental in reorganizing the Chickasha Community Theater in 1994 and served as President and for 11 years served on the Board of Directors. He also acted, directed and helped with organization. He was preceded in death by: Parents; His sister: Janis Bond; Niece and nephew: Megan Bond and Nathan Bond. Survivors include: Life partner: Henry Heine of Chickasha; one brother: Howard Tims of Chickasha; one sister: Kathy Brady and Gerald of Oklahoma City; Nieces and nephews: Tony Koehler and family; Tim Koehler and family; Erin Koehler and family; Joannie McDonald and family; Dustin Bond and family; Gareth Bond and family; Host of family, friends and loved ones.
