Bertha "Bert" [Langford] Hinton Standridge
1919 ~ September 22, 2007


Funeral service for Bertha Hinton Standridge age 88, of Blanchard, Oklahoma will be held 2:30 pm Tuesday September 25, 2007 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Bertha Hinton Standridge was born in 1919 near Cement, Oklahoma, the daughter of Emmett T. and Nellie Pearl [Stubblefield] Langford. She died Saturday September 22, 2007 on the family farm near Blanchard.

Bert (as she was lovingly called) was married to Earl Hinton on July 13, 1983. They resided on the family farm raising cattle till his death on February 2, 1994. She later married "Son" Anderson on her 77th birthday and lived happily in Rush Springs, Oklahoma till his death. She later married Harold Standridge in 2000. They resided in Chickasha until they moved to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Harold passed away on October 11, 2004. She lived her final days with her only child, Beth Ferrara, husband Ken and grandson Christoper on the family farm.

She was preceded in death by: one sister Faye Smith and one brother Bob Langford.

Survivors include: one daughter: Beth Ferrara and husband Ken of Blanchard, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: David Real, Jr. and wife Linnea of Plano, Texas; Sara Venable and husband Dusty of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Christopher Ferrara of Blanchard, Oklahoma; one great-grandchild: Kyler Ray Venable of Chickasha; two nieces and eight nephews and a host of dear friends.

Interment will be next to her husband Earl Hinton, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Jake Gilford Standridge
October 28, 1920 ~ July 15, 2009


Funeral services for Jake Gilford Standridge, 88, of Chickasha were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2009, in the First Baptist Church with Johnny Tims officiating.

Jake Standridge was born October 28, 1920, in the Lucille Community, East of Chickasha, the son of Robert and Lydia [Satterwhite] Standridge.

He died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, in Chickasha.

Jake was a farmer in the Friend area, North East of Chickasha, where he lived with his first wife, Helen, and raised their children.

He had also lived in Amber for several years. He sold Federal Crop Insurance for many years and had also been employed a number of years by Stephenson-Browne Lumber Company, Kendrick and King Lumber Company, and the Cable Plant during his younger years. In later years, Jake had a cattle ranch where he bought and sold cattle.

During WWII Jake served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.

After his wife Helen's death, Jake sold his farm and moved to Chickasha where he became a member of the First Baptist Church, moving his membership from the Amber First Baptist Church. In 1999, Jake met and married his wife, Doloris. They have had 10 wonderful years together.

Jake was preceded in death by both parents; his first wife, Helen [Kell] Standridge; brother, Arlie; and a sister, Merline.

He leaves behind his wife Doloris, of the home; two sons and their wives: Kelly and Mary Standridge, of Las Vegas, Nevada and Stanley and Becky Standridge, of Oklahoma City; one daughter and her husband, Judith and Dean Sheely, of Prescott, Arizona; one sister, Emmajean Bohn, of Lubbock, Texas; two granddaughters and husbands: Gina and Jari Nami, of Boca Rotan, Florida and Lorrie and Mark Stabile, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and one great-granddaughter, Audrie Stabile, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Jake will be very much missed by his family and many friends.

Lola Doloris [Bradley] Carpenter Muegge Standridge
August 14, 1925 ~ September 16, 2018


Graveside services for Lola Doloris Bradley] Standridge, 93, of Chickasha will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Fairlawn Cemetery with Pastor Michael Butler officiating.

Lola Doloris [Bradley] Standridge was born August 14, 1925, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to W.H. “Bill” Bradley and Lola Beatrice [Lamb] Bradley. She was the granddaughter of William Scott Bradley for whom the town of Bradley, Oklahoma was named. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 16, 2018.

Doloris grew up in Chickasha, attended Chickasha Public Schools and graduated at the age of 17 from Chickasha High School in 1943 during World War II. Three months before graduating, she was employed after school by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. After graduation, she was employed as a local and long-distance operator; later going to work in the business office as a service representative.

In 1945, Doloris married Charles U. Carpenter, and in 1957, moved to Lawton, Oklahoma. She continued working for Southwestern Bell until her retirement after 37 years. In Lawton, she was a member of the National Secretaries Association.

Doloris moved back to Chickasha in 1985 where she resided until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Charles U. Carpenter, Lloyd L. Muegge, and Jake G. Standridge; her brothers, Clifford and Haskell Williams; one sister, Gloria Beatrice Hamilton; and her stepson, Stanley Standridge.

Survivors include, nephew, Brad Hamilton of Chickasha; niece and husband, Gina and John Smith of Marlow; niece, Gloria Williams of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her step-children, Judy and Dean Sheeley of Prescott, Arizona, Kelly and Mary Standridge of Las Vegas, Nevada; great-nephews and nieces, and her dear friends, Krista and Jared Cochran, of Chickasha.

Estel A. Standridge
September 13, 1933 ~ June 3, 2010


Funeral services for Estel A. Standridge, 76, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2010, in the Sharon Baptist Church.

Estel A. Standridge was born September 13, 1933, in Tabler, Oklahoma, the son of Russell A. and Rubie D. [Cunningham] Standridge. He died June 3, 2010, at his home in Chickasha.

Estel grew up in the Lucile Community area east of Chickasha. He attended Lucile schools then Spring Creek schools and at 9th grade started at Chickasha Schools until graduation. His career was in farming and ranching.

Charlotte Gassaway and Estel married on April 2, 1954, living in the Lucile area raising their sons, Steve and Kirk. His family included more than just the four of them. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins were always at the home. One characteristic of Estel's personality is that he was always trying to help out anyone who needed it and anyone was always welcomed to their kitchen table.

Estel and Charlotte raised their family with core values. Faith was something you lived, not just something you talked about. As their family grew up they were faithful members of Lucile Baptist Church. Not going to church was never an option. For the last 30 years Estel has attended Sharon Baptist Church. He loved getting to know people and especially the children and youth, giving them candy. Estel was also a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.

Estel was an innovator in the agriculture industry in Grady County. He brought the first cotton stripper to the area. To Estel, just "average" was a dirty word. He strove to teach his boys to work hard and play hard together. His agriculture professional associations were with the Grady County Cattleman's Association. He served on the Farm Service County Committee for more than 20 years. His family was also lifetime members of the Farm Bureau Association and was selected as Farm Family of the Year one year.

Estel enjoyed gardening, especially to give it away to others. He liked going RV'ing to see new places, meet people and go fishing. All through life Estel enjoyed card games and dominoes with friends and teaching the grandkids and cousins games. He loved family gatherings and keeping in touch with all his relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents; and his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Standridge.

Estel is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Donna Standridge of Chickasha and Kirk and Kathy Strandridge of Sulphur, Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law: Larry and Betty Standridge of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one sister, Patsy Lin of Verden; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and much extended family.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Charlotte Mae Gassaway Standridge was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Chickasha. She died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in Chickasha.

Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Charlotte Mae [Gassaway] Standridge

Funeral services for Charlotte M. Standridge, 68, will be held Saturday, June 5, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. in the Sharon Baptist Church, with Justin Ford officiating and Larry Standridge assisting.

Charlotte Mae Gassaway Standridge was born August 5, 1935, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert Charles Gassaway and Della Emoline Gassaway. She died June 2, 2004, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Charlotte graduated from Chickasha High School in 1953 and continued her education at OCW.

She was a member of the Eastern Star; she was an active member of the Lucille HCE group since 1956 where she was involved in local, district and state levels; she was a former volunteer at Grady Memorial Hospital; she was active in Farm Bureau's Women's activities; supporter of GA's, 4-H, and many other youth activities; she was recognized as a 2002 Grady County Fair Honoree. She was an active member of the Sharon Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, participated in the Vacation Bible School, and served on many committees within the church. She was preceded in death by both parents.

Survivors include her husband, Estel Standridge of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Donna Standridge of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Kirk and Kathy Standridge of Sulphur, Oklahoma; sister and husband, Myrtle and James Elston of Chickasha, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Russell Standridge and wife Becca of Corvallis, Oregon, and Jared Standridge of Norman, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Stacey Standridge of Eugene, Oregon, Hattie Standridge of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Bonnie and husband Brandon Griffith of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and one great grandson, Reed Andrew of Corvallis, Oregon.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Donnie Joe Standridge
November 20, 1943 ~ September 24, 2014


Graveside services for Donnie Joe Standridge, 70, of Chickasha, will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Fairlawn Cemetery with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.

Donnie Joe Standridge was born in Chickasha on November 20, 1943 to Joe Eli Standridge and Dorthy May [Trammell] Standridge. He died on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in Chickasha.

Donnie grew up and attended schools in Chickasha. He worked as a carpet layer and had owned his own business in Tulsa.

He enjoyed working on old cars, racing cars, boating, and riding motorcycles. He loved to watch football, especially the OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma June Phillips; and son, Michael Standridge.

Survivors include two sons, Wesley Dean Standridge and Chris Standridge of Bartlesville and a daughter, Debbie Guess of Bartlesville; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; as well as extended family and friends.

Services and interment are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Stanley Roy Standridge
September 6, 1944 ~ March 31, 2016


Funeral services will be held for Stanley Roy Standridge, 71, of Oklahoma City, at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Ezell Nelson officiating.

Stanley Roy Standridge was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on September 6, 1944, the son of Jake G. and Helen Ruth [Kell] Standridge. He died on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Stan grew up on the family farm, northeast of Chickasha and attended Friend Schools until his senior year of high school, when he transferred to Amber High School graduating in 1962. He then attended vocational school in Tishomingo and received a Certificate of Culinary Arts.

He lived in Bixby for many years and then moved back to Chickasha, living at Nowata Gardens for several years, where he met his wife, Becky Bone. They were married in Chickasha on April 5, 1998 and later moved to Oklahoma City.

Stan enjoyed watching movies and TV shows. He had a close friendship with his cousin, Mike Estes.

He was preceded in death by both his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Becky, of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Kelly and Mary Standridge, of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Dean Sheeley, of Prescott, Arizona; stepmother, Doloris Standridge of Chickasha; two nieces, Gina Niemi and Lorrie Stabile; cousins and other extended family and friends.

Services and interment in Fairlawn Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
