Space November 17, 1924 ~ July 25, 2003 Graveside services for Cloyce W. Space, 87, of Chickasha, will be held Monday, July 28, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in the Fairlawn Cemetery with James D. Cox officiating. Cloyce came to Oklahoma as a small child with his family. He grew up in Wert, Oklahoma, where he attended public schools and graduated from Wert High School. While growing up in Wert, Cloyce was employed at the local movie theater in Healdton, Oklahoma. In 1944, Cloyce moved to Evansville, Indiana, where he was employed with Sunco Oil Company. He was later transferred to Uniontown, Kentucky. He married Bernice Nation on October 12, 1947, in Morganfield, Kentucky. Cloyce came [to] Chickasha in 1969, from Uniontown, Kentucky. He had been employed in the oil industry for over thirty-five years and retired from Sun Oil Company in 1981. He was a member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed woodcrafting as a hobby. Cloyce was preceded in death by both parents, one brother and three sisters. His wife Bernice also preceded him in death on January 17, 1997. Survivors include very close friends Mabel Phariss, Jim and Virginia Cox, all of Chickasha, and his church family at the First Christian Church in Chickasha. Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
