She died August 23, 2005 in Chickasha. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Thursday, August 25, 2005 August 20, 1916 ~ August 23, 2005 Graveside service for Lucile Scott, 88, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2005, in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Wayne Ashlock officiating. Lucile Scott was born August 20, 1916, in Arkansas, the daughter of Frank Crutcher and Bertha McKoin Crutcher. She died Tuesday, August 23, 2005 in Chickasha. In 1933, Lucile married Conrad Turner, in Valient, Oklahoma. They came to Chickasha in 1934, and it has been "home" to her since. Lucile later married Otto Scott, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They owned a trucking business, which she helped operate. She was a devoted homemaker, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She loved taking walks, spending time with her family and enjoyed life. Lucile was preceded in death by both of her husbands; both parents; three sisters; Corene Moore, Vera Arant, and Clara Mae Spencer; two brothers: Lee and Johnny Crutcher; and one grandson, Mark Rogers. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Billie and Melvin Thomas, of Chickasha, and Cindy and Randy Sellers, of Lawton; sister and brother-in-law: Vivian and Gene Howard, of Chickasha; six grandchildren: Herman Claude Rogers, Quinten Rogers, Deanna Kepler, Kathy Rogers, Crystal Morris, and Mindy Lasseter; and ten great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Sunday, 15 July 2007 April 2, 1920 ~ July 13, 2007 Funeral service for Mertis Marie Scott age 87 of Chickasha will be held 1:30 pm Monday July 16, 2007 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Scott was born April 2, 1920 in Hayworth, Oklahoma. She died Friday July 13, 2007 in Chickasha. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Indiana Virginia [Grubbs] Dean. She married John Robert McCoy and later married V.W. Scott and Harry Cobb, Jr. They all preceded her in death. She had lived in Chickasha since 1965. Her parents, two brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great grandchild also preceded her in death. Survivors include: three daughters and their husbands Ernestine Mann and Carl of Amber; Louise Bright and Gary of Moore; Shirley White and Johnny of Blanchard; five sons and their wives Billy Don McCoy and Mary Jane of Anchorage, Alaska; Louis L. McCoy and Judith of Broken Bow; John R. McCoy and Anita of Chickasha; Larry McCoy and Sue of Chickasha; Charles David McCoy and Sherri of Blanchard; one sister Violet Johnson of Chickasha; one brother W.T. Dean of Chickasha; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home |
