Lee William Rutledge
March 10, 1941 ~ January 4, 2010


Memorial services for Lee W. Rutledge, 68, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2010, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Ezell Nelson officiating.

Lee W. Rutledge was born March 10, 1941, in Mooreland, Oklahoma, the son of Ora and Maxine [Hillbig] Rutledge. He died January 4, 2010, in Chickasha.

Lee grew up and attended schools in Mooreland, Oklahoma.

He owned and operated a rat hole business in Woodward, Oklahoma. In 1978 he followed the business to Chickasha where he relocated and later opened Rutledge and Salmon Rat Hole Drilling in 1980.

On August 18, 1989, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lee married Desira [Riley] Rutledge. They have had 20 wonderful years together.

He had been employed with Bridgett Corporation and J and K Dozier where he built pads for oil derricks before his retirement in 2009.

Lee was preceded in death by both parents; and wife, Patsy Rutledge, in 1974.

He leaves behind his wife, Desira Rutledge; three sons and daughters-in-law: Jim and Pam Rutledge, Craig and Jamie Rutledge and Shon and Trina Riley; four grandsons: Jarrod Rutledge, Shane Rutledge, Tyrell Rutledge and Dylan Riley; two granddaughters: Ashley Riley and Courtney Riley; good friends: Jon Diehl and Snuffy Shipp; four sisters; and numerous extended family and friends.

There will be no public viewing. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
