Roberta Kay "Bobbie" [Cook] Reed
November 17, 1950 ~ April 11, 2007


Funeral services for Bobbie Reed, 56, of Chickasha will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Chickasha with Reverend Kim Hayes of Bible Baptist Church officiating.

Bobbie Kay [Cook] Reed was born November 17, 1950, in Guymon, Oklahoma, to Lois Cook and the late Lester Cook. She died April 11, 2007, in Chickasha after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer.

She grew up on a farm in Griggs, Oklahoma. She attended Plainview school and later graduated from Guymon High School in 1969. She married her high schools sweetheart Kenneth Reed on August 24, 1969.

Bobbie worked as an aid at Guymon Hospital and then went on to pursue her LPN license, then her RN license and was most proud of her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 1991.

Bobbie moved to Chickasha in 1980 and began working at Grady Memorial Hospital . She worked in many areas including 1st floor, 2nd floor, ICU, and her last position was as the OR supervisor. She was a compassionate and hardworking nurse for over 25 years.

Bobbie was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. She was an inspiration to those around her and her faith was strong. Her focus was on her family and friends. The lessons she taught are endless.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Cook and her husband, Kenneth Reed.

Survivors include her mother, Lois Cook of Chickasha; Daughter, Kendra Parker and husband Todd of Tuttle; son, Kory Reed and wife Tara of Chickasha; sister, Lesta Wright of Branson, Missouri; sister, Fran Shaffer and fiancé' Tony Cupp of Piedmont, Oklahoma; one brother, Gerald Cook and wife Ann of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Weston and Makenna Parker of Tuttle; and Kendon Reed of Chickasha; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials can be made to the Bible Baptist Building Fund, P.O. Box 762, Chickasha, OK. 73023.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
