Oscar Snow Pyle MD
December 25, 1900 ~ August 4, 1965


DR. O. S. PYLE FUNERAL HELD

Private funeral rites were held Friday in Fairlawn Cemetery for Dr. Oscar Snow Pyle, 64, 1223 South 14th, who died in his sleep at his home Wednesday night.

Dr. Pyle was born December 25, 1900 in Columbia, Ky.

He had been a resident of Chickasha since 1933. He was a graduate of the Oklahoma University School of Medicine in 1926.

He was married to Miss Dorthea Wright in 1931.

He is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Douglas C. Pyle; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Goltry of Chickasha and Mrs. Ransom Holland of Oklahoma City.

Interment was in Fairlawn under direction of Sevier's Funeral Home.

Dorothea Wright Pyle
October 24, 1908 ~ November 11, 2004


Dorothea Wright Pyle died at Atoka Memorial Hospital on November 11, 2004.

Born on October 24, 1908, in Altus, Oklahoma, she was the third child of Walter B. Wright and Nona Russell Wright.

Mrs. Pyle attended the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority; upon leaving the university, she taught the second grade in Altus until her marriage to Dr. Oscar Snow Pyle of Elmer, Oklahoma, in 1931. Dr. and Mrs. Pyle settled in Chickasha in 1934. They had two sons, Douglas Craig and David Snow [1941 - 1964].

Mrs. Pyle was a longtime parishioner of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild during the 1960s and 1970s. She was a charter member of the Chickasha chapter of P.E.O., and belonged to the Huguenot Society of America.

She is survived by her son Douglas, of Daisy, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, David Holmes Pyle, of Tulsa, and Emily Alexandra Pyle, of Austin, Texas; and by a nephew, Dr. Lynn B. Roberts of Stillwater.

Christeen Olvia [Paige] Pyle
October 22, 1921 ~ December 12, 2004


Graveside services for Christeen Olvia Pyle, 83, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Christeen Olvia Pyle was born October 22, 1921, at Blanchard, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clarence and Susie [Thorne] Paige. She died Sunday, December 12, 2004, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

She and Charles Herman "C.H." Pyle were married July 11, 1948, in Chickasha. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

She had lived in the Chickasha area all of her life. She was a homemaker. She and her husband farmed in the Union Hill area.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons: Larry Pyle and wife, Latahona, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Charles Pyle and wife, Gwen, of Marlow, Oklahoma; one daughter, Shirley Childers, of Lindsay, Oklahoma; two brothers, Lester Paige and Howard Paige; two sisters, Clista Hopkins and Alma Mobbs; five grandchildren, Karie and husband, Mike Norman, Charles Childers, Christal Bates, Cindy Pyle, and Dave Childers, Jr.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Betty Jo Pyle
November 13, 1923 ~ May 22, 2005


Graveside service for Betty Jo Pyle, 81, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha.

Betty Joe Pyle was born November 13, 1923 at Erick, Oklahoma the daughter of William Riley and Lossie Erwin [Cannon] Pyle and died May 22, 2005 in Chickasha.

She attended grade school in Erick and moved with her family to Chickasha in 1941. She was a graduate of Chickasha High School and Chickasha Business College. She worked at the Chickasha Daily Express, Chickasha Cotton Oil Company, Pool Mortgage Company, and was secretary at Chickasha High School for 21 years.

Betty loved to study history and loved to watch the old movies. She was a member of the Church of Christ for many years. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers.

Betty is survived by one sister, Donna Jones of Chickasha; nephews, Charlie Pyle and Larry Pyle; nieces: Shirley Childers, Pat King, Sara Rhoads; great nieces, Karie Norman, Crystal Bates, Kimmye Wagner, Jamie Reed, Mandy McClaren and Erin Jolly; grandnephews: Charles Thomas and David Lee.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
