Mr. Posey obtained his professional engineering license and his first patent (of several) while working at GE. Their first child, a daughter named Faith, was born in Schenectady, New York. General Electric transferred him to Buffalo, New York, to be head of the engineering department. Mr. Posey longed to return back home to Oklahoma to start his own reed switch company. In 1968, William, Dorothy, Tom, David and Mark all moved to Oklahoma, and Hermetic Switch, Inc. was founded. Faith was already married to Everett R. Andrus at the time, but they would soon follow to work in the family business. Mr. Posey enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, puzzles, and his family.
