Funeral services for Flora "Kink" Duke Petty, 89, of Chickasha, are pending with Ferguson Funral Home.

Flora "Kink" Duke Petty was born June 16, 1916. She died Sunday, October 30, 1n Chickasha.

Funeral services for Flora "Kink" Duke Petty, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2005 in Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with James Swain officiating.

"Kink" was born June 16, 1916, Southwest of Chickasha, to Thomas Pleasant Duke and Ollie Mae [Rankin] Duke. She died Sunday, October 30, in Chickasha.

Flora grew up in the Grady County area. She attended grammar school at Kechi Elementary, and graduated from Cement High School in 1934.

While employed at W&B Flight School she meet Virgil L. Petty who was a flight instructor. They were married on May 14, 1946 in Chickasha. They lived their married life in Chickasha and Munday, Texas, where they owned and operated Petty Flying Service.

She was a member of the College Heights Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. Petty; both parents; stepdaughter, Carol Ann Petty; two brothers: Harold and Ovyle Duke; sister and brother-in-law: Beth and H. T. Holding; and one nephew, Douglas Duke.

She is survived by stepson and wife: Virgil T. and Ruth Petty, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; grandson and wife: Tommy and Debbie Petty, of Red Rock, Oklahoma; two granddaughters and husbands: Janet and Todd Holmes, of Tulsa and Lisa and Paul Didlake, of Bartlesville; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister-in-law, Elwanda Duke, of Rush Springs; two nephews and wives: Harold and Jackie Duke, of Rush Springs and Tom and Lynda Holding, of Blanchard; two nieces and husbands: Patricia and Terry Rackley and Linda and Ed Buss, all of Shawnee.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
