Juanita J. [Hughes] Gilbert Palmer
April 6, 1913 ~ March 26, 1992


Funeral for Juanita Gilbert Palmer, 78, Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 am Monday, March 30, 1992, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Rev. John Derr, pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church, will be officiating, assisted by Rev. Johnny Wray, pastor of Verden First Baptist Church.

She was born April 6, 1913, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Adellan Hughes and Nina Emily [Wood] Jewell, and died Thursday, March 26, 1992, in Chickasha.

She came to the Chickasha area in 1945 from Albuquerque, N. M. She lived and worked on a dairy farm and farmed in the Dutton Community. Mrs. Palmer later worked for J.C. Penny for almost 20 years.

She married Ivan Gilbert and he preceded her in death in 1963. She later married Clay Palmer and he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Palmer was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one son and a daughter-in-law, Ivan and Margaret Gilbert of Pocasset; one daughter, Evelyn Hubbard of Chickasha; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Bill Bob and Anita Gilbert of Pocasset; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Michael and Melissa Herrera of Ninnekah; and one great granddaughter, Brooke Gilbert of Pocasset.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
