March 28, 1923 ~ June 24, 2007 Ellen Jane Arnold Owen, age 84, died Sunday, June 24, 2007 in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 in Robertson Chapel Of Memories with Rev. Lance Wood, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon, officiating. Burial will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, OK with Johnny Wray, Life Line Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. Owen was born March 28, 1923 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Harvey and Ruth Tooten Arnold. She was a resident of the Chickasha and Verden, OK area most of her married life and had lived in Clarendon since July 2005. She married Wesley Odell "Shorty" Owen on October 6, 1938 at Lawton,OK. He was a contractor in the Chickasha area most of his life. Mrs. Owen had been an active volunteer in the Girl Scout and Brownie organizations much of her life. She was a member of the Verden Senior Citizens Association and was very involved in most of their activities. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church in Verden, OK. Preceded in death by: her husband on December 7, 1995; a daughter, Jean Arnold on September 7, 2002; and her sister, Norma Taylor in 2005. Survivos include daughter, Susie Dale and husband Frank of Howardwick; four grandchildren, Joe Kerby of Salado, TX; Karla Fowler of Oklahoma City; Sherry Lyons of Amarillo; Frankie Dale of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
