Betty Maxine [Perez] Overby
September 13, 1928 ~ July 28, 2003

Funeral services for Betty M. Overby, 74, of Chickasha, will be held Thursday, July 31, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Gary Bell officiating.

Betty was born September 13, 1928, in Parsons, Kansas, daughter of Gabriel Perez and Anna Racy Perez. She died July 28, 2003, in Chickasha.

Betty grew up in the Parsons, Kansas, area where she attended high school. She moved to Chickasha from Tulsa in 1969, and opened Pat's Fina Service Station. Later she and her husband, Pat, purchased and ran the car wash at Third and Idaho. Eventually they opened Chickasha 2-Way. Betty took over Chickasha 2-Way in 1989 after her husband's death and was still working there with her son, Patrick.

Betty was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Betty was preceded in death by both parents and four brothers. Her husband, Pat, also preceded her in death in 1989.

Survivors include one son, Patrick Overby, of Chickasha; 2 grandchildren: Amanda and James Overby; one sister: Marceline Taylor, of Pittsburg, Kansas; two sisters-in-law: Dolly Perez of Parsons, Kansas, and Margaret Perez of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Ferguson Funeral Home.
