Stan Newberry was born on September 19, 1955. He died on December 26, 2003, in Chickasha, Okla. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma December 28, 2003 September 19, 1955 ~ December 26, 2003 Funeral service for Stanley D. Newberry, age 48, of Chickasha, OK, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ with Jim Sheerer officiating. Stanley D. Newberry was born the son of Hubert Newberry and Helen Bridges Newberry on Sept. 19, 1955, in Chickasha, OK. He died on Friday Dec. 26, 2003,at his home. Stan grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School. He was actively involved in Boy Scouts and reached the level of Eagle Scout. In later years, he continued to be involved with the Boy Scouts. While growing up, Stan helped his father in the family business, Newberry Sheet Metal. He eventually assumed ownership of the business, which he continued to operate. Stan was a longtime member of Elks Lodge. He married Sherry Gregg on June 9, 1999, in Chickasha. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert "Nub" Newberry, mother, Helen Newberry Norvell and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include: wife Sherry Newberry of Chickasha; brother and wife, Phillip and Judy Newberry of Riverton, Wyoming; nephew, Amos Newberry of Riverton, Wyoming; stepdaughter and husband, Destiny Rose and Aaron Meier of Moore; father-in-law, John Wayne Johnson and wife, B. J.; mother-in-law, Betty Barron of Chickasha; brother-in-law and wife, Larry and Jessica Barron of Chickasha; brother-in-law and wife, Ivan and Deniene Johnson of Bethany; brother-in-law and wife, Richard and Penny Johnson of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law and husband, Teresa and Jerry Martin of Wichita Falls, Texas; numerous aunts and uncles; and numerous friends. Interment will be held in Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
