Jim Sheerer will officiate. Helen Newberry Norvell was born August 19, 1929, in Waco, Texas, and died on Friday, December 5, 2003, in Chickasha. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma December 8, 2003 August 19, 1929 ~ December 5, 2003 Funeral service for Helen Newberry, age 74, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2003, in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Jim Sheerer will officiate. Helen Newberry Norvell was born the daughter of Andy Imboden Bridges and Dante Robinson Bridges on August 19, 1929, Littlefield, Texas. She died on December 5, 2003, in Chickasha. Helen graduated from Chickasha High School and attended Oklahoma College for Women. She worked as a legal secretary for thirty-five years for a local law firm. Helen was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. After retirement, she spent her time involved with the church, her family and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert L. Newberry and C. F. Norvell, brothers Glen Bridges, Scott Bridges, and Jack Bridges, and sister, Martha Tankersly. Survivors include: son and wife, Stan and Sherry Newberry of Chickasha; son and wife, Phillip and Judy Newberry of Riverton, Wyoming; stepdaughter and husband, Susan and Kent Murray of Fletcher; three grandchildren: Amos Newberry, Gaylen Murray and Gene Murray; sister, Edith Payne and the late John Payne of Keller, Texas; sister and husband, Vera and Duard Givins of Indiahoma; sister and husband, Bettie and Roland Ingrahm of Sweeny, Texas; sister and husband, Wilma and Walt Pipolo of Canoga Park, California; brother and wife, Curtis and Barbara Bridges of Nashville, Tennessee. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; Westview Boys Home,120 W. Broadway, P.
