Merle O. Mooter
November 13, 1936 ~ December 19, 2012


Funeral services will be held for Merle O. Mooter, 76, of Chickasha at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating.

Merle O. Mooter was born in Oney, on November 13, 1936, the son of Clark Mooter and Odell Taylor Mooter. He died on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at his home in Chickasha.

Merle grew up in Oney Oklahoma and later graduated from Oney High School in 1956. Shortly after his graduation he enlisted in the US Air Force. He proudly served our country from 1956-1960.

He then married the love of his life on December 19, 1960, in Albert. Merle worked for Western Electric until moving to Chickasha. After moving to Chickasha he became a self-employed truck driver, mostly hauling hay, retiring in 2006.

Merle enjoyed many hobbies camping, playing his guitar, OU football, and attending as many of the grandchildren's ball games he could.

He was preceded in death by: both parents, brother, Kenneth Mooter, and loving wife Laqueta on April 7, 2012.

Survivors include: brother, Dyrell Mooter and Minnie of Sulphur; sister-in-law, Jackie Bordwine of Chickasha; daughter, Rhonda Renee Sneed and husband Steve of Chickasha; son Mark Mooter and wife Amy of Chickasha; grandsons, Jarrod Sneed, Justin Sneed, Kadin Sneed and Keegan Mooter, all of Chickasha, and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Laqueta June [Bordwine] Mooter
June 7, 1939 ~ April 7, 2012


Funeral services will be held for Laqueta June Mooter, 72, of Chickasha at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lynn Walker officiating.

Laqueta June Mooter was born on June 7, 1939, in East Walnut, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Joseph Bordwine and Eunice Kathren [McCloud] Bordwine. She died on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at home in Chickasha.

Laqueta grew up in the Lookeba-Binger area and graduated from Lookeba High School in 1957. She worked around that area until she married Merle O. Mooter on December 19, 1960, in Albert, Oklahoma. Laqueta then worked for Western Electric until they moved to Chickasha at which time she devoted herself to making a loving home for their two children, Rhonda Renee Mooter Sneed and Mark Allen Mooter.

She was preceded in death by: both parents; three brothers, Rodger Dale Bordwine, Kenneth Bordwine, and Eugene Bordwine; and one sister, Lottie Faye Bordwine.

Survivors include: husband, Merle Mooter of the home; daughter, Rhonda Renee Sneed & husband Steve of Chickasha; son, Mark Mooter & wife Amy of Chickasha; brother, Wayne Bordwine & wife Jackie of Chickasha; grandsons, Jarrod Sneed, Justin Sneed, Kadin Sneed and Keegan Mooter all of Chickasha; a host of nieces & nephews and dear friends; and life-long friend, Brenda Fuller-Wagner.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
