Cora Anetta Montgomery

Funeral for Cora A. Montgomery, 94, Lawton, was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tyrone Turner officiating.

Mrs. Montgomery died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at her home.

Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, under direction of Jefferson Funeral Home.

She was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Luther. She married Alvin Montgomery in April 1935, in Oklahoma City. She moved to Lawton in 1959 from Chickasha. She was the owner of Shady Front Bar-B-Que in Lawton for many years. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Montgomery, Lawton; a niece and her husband, Josephine A. and ViVian Young, Wichita Falls, Texas; a nephew, Willie Alexander, Oklahoma City; great-nieces and nephews: LaDonna L. Young, the Rev. Gary W. and Renita Young, Katherine and Bobby Cooper, Vanessa and Andrew Fields, and Kevin Young; and many great-great-nieces and nephews.
