Wilma LaVelle [Smith] Miller
January 9, 1925 ~ March 7, 2006


Funeral for Wilma LaVelle Miller, age 81, of Grove, Oklahoma will be held Friday, March 10, 2006, 2:00 p.m. in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Chuck Davis will officiate.

LaVelle was born on January 9, 1925, in Star Township, College Mount Community Rush Springs, Oklahoma. She was taken to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2006. She graduated from Rush Springs High School. She met the love of her life Roy Lee Miller of Cottonwood Community, Cement, Oklahoma. They were married August 16, 1944, in Marlow, Oklahoma. They established their home in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and were business partners in Roy Lee Miller Construction and Insulation. She manage the business after the death of Roy Lee in 1972. She retired and moved to Oklahoma City in the early 1980s. In the early 1990s she moved to Grove, Oklahoma.

LaVelle was a member of a gospel singing group, an avid gardener, an accomplished baker and jelly maker. She enjoyed collecting ceramic birds, bells, and plates. Her greatest happiness came from time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

LaVelle was preceded in death by her parents James and Flora Smith, husband Roy Lee Miller, three brothers James, Dan and Ray Smith, one sister Eris Romo, two grandsons Chad Miller and Lance Gray, and a granddaughter LaKarra Metts.

She is survived by five sons Ronnie, Carey, Brian, Kevin and Ken Miller, a brother Leo Smith, ten grandchildren Brandy, Kris, Tina, Danyon, Derrik, Caleb, Krissy, Devon, Austin, McKenzie, Maison and five great grandchildren.

Bearers will be Danyon Miller, Derrik Miller, Caleb Miller, Krissy Straub, Devon Miller and Austin Miller.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.

Billy Donald Miller
March 28, 1934 ~ March 13, 2010

Funeral services for Billy Donald Miller, 75, of Chickasha will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in the Epworth United Methodist Church.

Billy Donald Miller was born March 28, 1934, in Verden, Oklahoma the son of Oscar and Mattie [Moore] Miller. He died March 13, 2010, in Chickasha.

Don grew up in Bradley, Oklahoma. He attended and graduated from Bradley Public Schools.

In 1952, at age 18, Don joined the U.S. Navy. He served during the Korean War and Vietnam. Don had earned the rank of Chief before his retirement in 1974.

He returned to Chickasha in 1974 and started farming. He was a member of the Agriculture Extension Advisory Counsel; he served as Dean of the O.S.U. Agriculture Department, and was very active in many other Ag programs throughout the county and state. He was also a member of the Emmaus of Great Plains, the Chickasha Arts Council and was an active and dedicated member of Epworth United Methodist Church. He truly enjoyed and loved his church and his church family and was active in the Epworth United Methodist Men's group and many other programs throughout the church. He also was an avid supporter of the Angel Tree Children's Ministry and of the Chickasha High School Wrestling Team's Take Down Club.

Don loved farming, gardening, watching movies and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Pat Miller; two daughters: Marcene Hood and Marilee Capers; three brothers: Bob, Carlton and Loren Miller.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Lavonna and Jerry Bradley of Dalton, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law: Dwane and Lynn Miller of Lindsey and Mike and Nancy Minard of Chickasha; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters: Codene Perkins, Carol and Lloyd Larabee and Elaine Miller; sister-in-law, Mickie Miller; fiance, Angel Farley and her two children: Kyle and Samantha Farley; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Don's name to the Chickasha High School Take Down Club Attn: Chad Randle 900 W. Choctaw; Chickasha, OK. 73018 or to Angel Tree Children's Ministry PO Box 518; Chickasha, OK. 73023.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
