Jerry Allen Davis was born December 22, 1939 in Mountaiair, N.M., the only child born to Herman George Thomas Meyer and Ruby Myrtle [Steele] Meyer.

Jerry spent his early childhood in New Mexico before moving to Ada, at the age of 13. While in high school, he was a member of the ROTC. Jerry graduated from Vanoss High School and later attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO.

He joined the United States Army and served his country proudly. He was stationed to NATO in Heidelberg, Germany. After being honorably discharged, he returned home to Oklahoma.

He met the love of his life, a young woman from Chickasha named Joyce Lavern Holcomb. They were married on Nov. 8, 1961 at the Calvary Baptist Church. Together they raised two sons, Douglas and David and they made their home in Chickasha.

Jerry began working for Sherwin Williams and the family moved to Seminole. They later moved to Del City where Jerry worked at a lumber yeard in hardware and sales. In 1984 Jerry moved his family to Tuttle and began working for TIFCO Industries as Sales Manager. He worked hard to provide for his family and found ways to stay busy. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family and especially his grandchildren. Jerry greatly enjoyed following them and watching their various sports and activities. He was a people person and enjoyed talking and telling stories.

Jerry was a member of the Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
