Joseph B. McHugh
November 26, 1894 ~ January 31, 1962


The funeral service of Joseph B. McHugh will be at 2 p.m., Friday, in the chapel of Sevier's Funeral Home. Dr. Jerold McBride, minister of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery.

McHugh, 67, of 412 Oregon, died Wednesday morning at his home. A native of Alabama, where he was born, November 26, 1894. He had lived in Chickasha 35 years. McHugh formerly lived in Ravia.

Until it closed in the late 1920s McHugh was employed with the Rock Island Railroad shop. Later he was engaged in carpentry for 10 years. He retired two years ago.

McHugh was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie McHugh; two sons, Otho McHugh and J.B. McHugh, both of Chickasha; one brother, Marvin McHugh, Chickasha; one sister, Mrs. Nancy Overstreet, Stockton, Calif; and six grandchildren.

Mattie Mae McHugh
July 30, 1895 ~ January 16, 1967


Mrs. Mattie McHugh, 71, 412 Oregon, died Monday. She was born July 30, 1895 in Texas.

She moved to the Tishomingo area when a child and lived in that area for 30 years, moving to Chickasha in 1924. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. McHugh was married to Joseph B. McHugh in Tishomingo who preceded her in death January 31. 1962.

Survivors include two sons, Otho McHugh of Chickasha; J.B. McHugh of Midwest City; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Sterling and Mrs. Lottie McHugh, both of Chickasha, and Mrs. Saddie Thompson of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Sevier's Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.

September 17, 1921 ~ June 2, 2005


Funeral services for J. B. McHugh, 83, of Midwest City will be held Monday June 6, 2005 at Eisenhower Funeral Home in Midwest City at 10:00 a.m. He was born September 17, 1921 in Ravi, OK to Joseph & Mattie McHugh.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha.

Mr. McHugh lived in Chickasha before moving to Midwest City. He was a disabled World War II veteran. He retired from Tinker Air Field.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

He is survived by two daughters, Kim McHugh of Jones, OK; Joanna Latting of Midwest City; a son, Jay Bee McHugh of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Mandy McHugh of Chicago, IL; and a brother, Otho McHugh of Chickasha.

Otho Curtis McHugh
February 21, 1923 ~ September 15, 2011


Funeral service for Otho Curtis McHugh, 88, of Chickasha, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Bible Baptist Church.

OTHO CURTIS McHUGH was born February 21, 1923, in Ravia, the son of Brake and Mattie McHugh. He died September 15, 2011 at his home in Chickasha.

Otho graduated from Chickasha High School in 1941. He served during World War II from 1943-1945, and landed on Normandy Beach on D-Day. Otho retired as assistant fire chief from the Chickasha fire department in 1972. After his retirement, he worked at the Best Western as head of maintenance.

Otho was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion.

He was very funny, loved to make people laugh and told lots of tall tails. He loved his yorkie, Chanel. Otho was the ping pong champ of the fire department.

He was preceded in death by a son: Otho S. McHugh in 2007, a brother: J.B. McHugh and Parents

Survivors include wife: Sadie McHugh of the home; two daughters: Anala and Jerry Mitchell of Minco, DeeDee and Tim Crawford of Chickasha, and seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Sadie [Kishen] McHugh
July 3, 1928 ~ November 23, 2020


Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 27, 2020 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK. Masks are required at the service.

Sadie McHugh, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 in Chickasha at the age of 92. She was born July 3, 1928 in Chickasha to Dan and Mollie [Edwards] Kishen.

Sadie grew up in Chickasha and married Otho McHugh on July 29, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked at Montgomery Wards and then went to work at Humpty Dumpty in 1967 until she retired in 1984.

She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and American Legion.

She did ceramics for years and her and Otho enjoyed going to shows and selling them. She loved being with her family especially her grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Mollie Kishen; her husband Otho McHugh in 2011 and her son Otho "Bud" McHugh in 2007, 9 sisters and 1 brother.

Sadie is survived by her daughters: Anala Mithcell and husband Jerry, of Minco, OK; Dee Dee Crawford and husband Tim, of Chickasha, OK; Grandkids: Otho “Bo” McHugh of Oklahoma City, OK; Misty Williams of Chickasha, OK; Chris Keller and wife, Kristi, of Ninnekah, OK; Suzie Law and husband Billy, of Minco, OK; Ashly McDaniel and husband Steven, of Minco, OK; Shayla Crawford of Chickasha, OK; and David Crawford and wife, Erin, of Chickasha, OK; 17 grandchilden and her special Yorkie "Boomer."

Otho "Bud" Sylvester McHugh
April 17, 1947 ~ January 13, 2007


Funeral service for Otho "Bud" Sylvester McHugh age 59 of Pocasset will be held 1:30 Wednesday January 17, 2007 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Otho "Bud" Sylvester McHugh was born April 17, 1947 in Chickasha.

He was the son of Otho C. and Sadie [Kishen] McHugh.

He died Saturday January 13, 2007 in Norman. He had lived in Grady County all of his life.

He graduated from Chickasha High School in 1965 He served in the U.S. Army where he completed his basic training at Ft. Bliss, Texas in 1966.

He went to Vietnam in 1967 while there he received an award for outstanding service as a Mechanic Engineer in the 57th Engineer Company.

He had worked for Chickasha Roofing and for Bevco in Oklahoma City for 25 years.

He enjoyed playing golf, watching his grandchildren playing ball, Dr. Pepper and of course his beloved chickens.

Survivors include: Beverly Gregory of Pocasset, his parents: Sadie and Otho C. McHugh of Chickasha one daughter: Misty Williams of Chickasha one son: Otho William "Bo" McHugh and wife Michelle of Chickasha two sisters: Anala Mitchell and husband Jerry of Minco, Dee Dee Crawford and Husband Tim of Chickasha six grandchildren: Megan Tyler, Brandon Williams, Sydney McHugh, Hayden McHugh, Hannah McHugh and Blake Banks Beverlys' children: Kerry and husband James Tilley, Beth and husband Brad Tollefson, Jenny and husband Kevin Thornburg and seven grandchildren: Kole, Jace, Kale, Jeff Tilley, Reagan Tollefson, Tori and Karlee Thornburg; numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha. Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
