1874 ~ June 1953


Funeral services were set for 3:30 pm today in the chapel of the Chickasha Funeral Home for Emmett N. McClain, 79, who died Wednesday in his home at 924 South Sixth following a long illness.

Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery.

McClain came to Amber in 1920 from Turkey, Tex., and was a minister in the Apostolic Church for 30 years. He farmed 24 years before his retirement several years ago when he moved to Chickasha.

Survivors include his wife Lucy; four sons, Buel McClain and Floyd McClain of Pocasset, Causba McClain of Oregon and Travis McClain of Bakersville, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Neva Ray and Mrs. Irene Martin of Fort Worth, and Mrs. Iva Tinsley of Oklahoma City; one brother, J. W. McClain of Chickasha; and one sister, Mrs. Millie Billinger of lianna; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral service for Mrs. Lucy McClain, 90, Chickasha, were held at 2 pm today in the chapel of Brown's Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Pendergrass officiating.

Mrs. McClain was born August 25, 1882 in Decatur, Tex. She and her husband, E. N. McClain, left Amber in 1943 and came to Chickasha. Mr. McClain preceded her in death in 1953. Mrs. McClain died Dec. 1 in Chickasha.

Survivors include: two sons, Buel of Chickasha and Floyd of Pocasset; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Martin of Fort Worth, Tex., and Mrs. Neva Ray of Pasadena, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Velma Johnson of Medford, Ore.; 17 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Odom, Everett Jeffries Jr., Roy Mosier, Bill Estes, Carl Smith and Jimmy Ray.

Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown's Funeral Home.
