© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Tuesday, January 30, 2007 March 8, 1937 ~ January 29, 2007 Funeral service for Herbert LeRoy McAdams, age 69, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, in the Epworth United Methodist Church. Rev. David Woods will officiate. Herbert LeRoy McAdams was born the son of Herbert M. McAdams and Fay McDaniel on March 8, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He died on January 29, 2007, in Chickasha. LeRoy attended Mustang schools and graduated from Mustang High School in 1955. He served in the United States Army and in the Army Reserves. LeRoy married Beverly Dunn on December 26, 1960, in Perry, Oklahoma. He worked as a truck driver for Fleming Foods, working in the Oklahoma City and Minneapolis Moline Warehouses. LeRoy and Beverly moved to Chickasha in 1962. He began working for Brandt's and also worked for Star Machinery Co. in Chickasha. LeRoy started his own business, Small Engine Service in 1983 and semi-retired in 2000. LeRoy was past president and secretary-treasurer of the Chickasha Optimist where he had been a club member for thirty-two years. He was president of the Grady County Historical Society. LeRoy enjoyed traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: Wife: Beverly McAdams of Chickasha; Daughter & Son-in-law: Yvonne & Glenn Drewry of Chickasha; Daughter & Son-in-law: Gilbert & DeAnna Copeland of Chickasha; Son: Tim McAdams of Chickasha; Granddaughter: Kimberly Copeland of Chickasha; Grandson: Kyle Trotter of Chickasha; Sister: Wanda Mitchell of Minco; Many Nieces & Nephews. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chickasha Optimist Scholarship. |
