December 23, 1896 ~ December 30, 1959


LEE KIRKLAND DIES AT HOME

Lee Kirkland, 627 North 11th died at his home Wednesday morning of an apparent heart attack.

He was born near Dallas on December 23, 1896 and came to Chickasha, Indian Territory in 1900.

A veteran of World War I, he saw service with the 13th Cavalry on the Mexican Border.

Kirkland was a member of the DAV and Michigan Avenue Baptist Church. He was a street department employee for 23 years and the last two years owned a garage at 1111 Frisco.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Agnes Kirkland, whom he married on August 26, 1922; two daughters, Miss Vera Mae of the home and Mrs. Helen Verser, Grants Pass, Ore., one brother, Montie, Ada and three grandchildren.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
