Betty Jo [Ryel] Keller
November 9, 1930 ~ December 15, 2011

Fneral service for Betty Jo Keller, age 81 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2011, in the Grand Assembly of God Church with Rev. Larry Hatfield officiating.

Betty was born the daughter of George Wesley Ryel and Jimmy Mae Brown Ryel on November 9, 1930 in El Reno, Oklahoma. She died on December 15, 2011.

Betty married Allison "Al" Keller on October 12, 1946 by the Reverend Boyd McSpadden in El Reno, Oklahoma. They remained happily married for fifty-eight years prior to his death in 2005. In 1965, the family moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma. They owned and operated Keller Plumbing until his passing in 2005.

In the mid-seventies, Betty traveled with her mother and sister Gail Conner & husband Allen to visit and explore Europe. Her sister Nancy Shepherd and husband Dr. Jerry Shepherd were stationed in Germany at the time. She often talked about their travels throughout Europe and especially their travels to Venice. Betty was involved in Sweet Adeline's for many years. She was an avid bowler, playing on various leagues over the years. She is best known for her sense of humor, her patience, understanding, and compassion. Betty loved to cook for her family and gather us together in the family home as often as possible. Christmas dinner brought a sense of joy, warmth and love to our family. Her special family recipes have been handed down but the love and pride she put into preparing us meals cannot be replicated.

Betty always took the time to listen-offering sound, compassionate, advice. In all situations, she turned to God for guidance. Her faith in God became the foundation of our family's approach to life, love, and family. We will miss her more than words can describe but we will carry her in our hearts forever.
