Johnson, 74, of Chickasha, was held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 6, 1990, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Reverend K. E. Rains, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church, officiated. Julia D. Johnson was born August 13, 1915, in Anadarko, and died Tuesday, April 3, 1990, in Chickasha. Mrs. Johnson had lived in Chickasha all of her life. She and Elmer "Rat" Johnson were married September 3, 1931, in Chickasha. He preceded her in death 3 April 1979. Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by her father, Ben Ford; two sisters; and one infant daughter. Her mother, Birdie Ford, died April 3, 1990. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Dean Jennings of Moore; four grandchildren, Rick Jennings and wife, Becky of Moore, Donald Jennings of Norman, Susan Jennings of Moore, Teresa Swearingen and husband, Richard, of Yukon, four great grandchildren, Billy and Melissa Jennings, and Matthew and Mallory Swearingen; and one sister, Elizabeth McDaniel of Edmond. Interment was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |

He lived in Friend, Amber, Tabler and Union Hill before moving to Alex 10 years ago. A farmer-stockman, Johnson was a member of the Baptist church. Lillie Iva Johnson was born September 13, 1906 in Tabler, Oklahoma, the daughter of Richard Mack and Alice [Hurd] Ogle. She died November 3, 2010 in Alex. She and Joey Johnson were married October 31, 1926 at the Sharon Baptist Parsonage. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Oklahoma Home Community Education group for 84 years. She had been a mamber of the Alex Southern Baptist chapel since 1958. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Joey Johnson, April of 1963, Grandson Jonathan Johnson October 15, 1979, Son Joey Johnson Jr. May of 1988, Great grandson Caleb Miller February of 2004, Granddaughter Cherie Murray November of 2008, Daughter-in-law Billie Johnson February 2, 2010, son-in-law Walter Brown March 16, 2010, 11 sisters and 8 brothers. Johnson were married July 15, 1949, in Chickasha. They moved to Great Bend, Kansas, where they lived until 1979. They moved to Edmond, Oklahoma, in 1979 and then moved to Chickasha in 1994, to make their home where they were closer to many of their relatives. Mrs. Johnson worked as a sales associate at T.G.&Y. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, J. W. Johnson, and one sister, Morene Pender. Survivors include her husband, J. B. Johnson of the home; two daughters, Donna McCoy of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Jenny Firestone of Spring, Texas; two sons, Jay Johnson of Great Bend, Kansas, and Jimmy Johnson of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Joy Wilson of Norman, Oklahoma, Bobbie Davis of Norman, and Betty Filipski of Norman; one brother, DeTroy Johnson of Whitesboro, Oklahoma; five grandsons and two granddaughters; three beautiful great granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. October 19, 2015 Leslie Sherman Johnson Sr September 17, 1926 ~ October 19, 2015 Leslie Sherman Johnson was born to Richard Sr. and Claudia Johnson on September 17, 1926 in Cameron, TX. He passed away October 19, 2015. At a young age, the Johnson family relocated to Verden, OK, and they eventually settled in Chickasha. Leslie attended Lincoln school, and was a Lincoln Alumnus. L.S. started work at an early age. He held various jobs: a Short-Order cook at Gene Cafe, a processor at Chickasha Milling Company; a builder at Chickasha Mobile Homes and several years at Delta Faucet. L.S. retired at the age of 70. L.S. was a long time faithful member of Sheperd Street [Disciples of Christ] Christian Church. He served, in the Church, as an Elder. L.S. was a long-time choir member. He also was a part of the "Men of Praise" singing group. Leslie Sherman Johnson united in holy matrimony to Ruby Alexander on August 24, 1946 in Chickasha, OK. The couple remained united for 52 years. She preceded him in death in 1998. To this union 10 children were born: Leslie Jr., Lawrence, Harold, Gloria, Jo Ann, Versie, Kathy, Burnette, Lynette and Darrell. L.S. was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; parents; one sister, Glenna Faye Maloney; two brothers, Richard Johnson, Jr. and Clarence Johnson, and Son-in-law, Bruce Henderson. Survivors left to cherish the memories are 10 children, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many close family friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Sheperd St. Christian Church. Internment at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Thomas Funeral Home. |

Ralph was reared in Caddo and Grady Counties and went to school in the Verden School System. He married Erma Hartline on May 8, 1954, in Verden. In 1956, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served in the CIA Division until 1962. Ralph later worked for the Purdue Construction Company until 1971, when he started his own plumbing business - Chickasha Plumbing. He retired in January of 2000. He also owned and ran Ralph's Chickasha Speedway from 1965 to 1967. Ralph enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, Brett and Dax Womack. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Baptist Church. Ralph was preceded in death by his father and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Erma Dee Johnson, of the home; two daughters: Cheryl Kay Johnson, of Gilbert, West Virginia, and April Womack and husband Jack, of Chickasha; one granddaughter, Brett Mercedes Womack, of Chickasha; one grandson, Dax McKinley Womack, of Chickasha; two brothers: Gene Johnson and wife Gracie, of Minco, OK, and Edward Johnson and wife Lil, of Bakersfield, CA; two sisters: Louise Smith and husband Bill, of Bakersfield, CA, and Lavada Mabry and husband Gene, of Porterville, CA; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Erma Dee Hartline was born April 19, 1936 in Anadarko, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jim Hartline and Mollie B. Riner Hartline. She died Saturday, June 8, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Erma came to Chickasha as a child, and went to Chickasha Public Schools. On May 8, 1954 she married Ralph Johnson in Verden, Oklahoma. She was employed at Pet Milk from 1956 through 1970, and after raising her daughters she returned to Pet Milk in 1986 through 1994. Ralph and Erma also owned and operated Chickasha Plumbing from 1971 through his death in 2003. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and most recently a member of Bible Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by: both parents, husband; Ralph Johnson, three sisters; Mary Lois Hunt, Jewel Faye Miles, and Ima Jo Griggs and four brothers; Freddie Hartline, Edgar Hartline, Tommie Hartline, and Garland Hartline. Survivors include: two daughters and son-in-law; Cheryl Johnson of Huntington, West Virginia, and April and Jack Womack of Chickasha, Oklahoma; one granddaughter Brett Womack and one grandson Dax Womack both of Chickasha, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend, Mary Ann Muchmore of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 Wanda [West] Johnson May 17, 1934 ~ April 2, 2014 Wanda West Johnson, Del City, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Wanda was born May 17, 1934 to Joe and Ione West. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1953. She was a member of Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church. She retired from Lincoln National Bank after 30 years in banking. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Wanda is survived by her son, Ricky and wife, Cristina of Tuttle; daughter, Tracy Virola and husband Pablo of San Antonio; grandchildren, Chelsea, Hilary, Ryan, Kayla and Brooklynne; brother, Ron West and wife Linda. She is preceded in death by husband, Tom R. Johnson; and brother, Jerry West. Bobby grew up in the Verden and Ninnekah area. He graduated from Ninnekah High School in 1966. He attended college at OCLA, now USAO, for two years. He married Sharon Shoemaker on June 1, 1970, in Wichita Falls, Texas. This union brought them their two children: Sean and Tracy. They have been married for 35 years. He was currently employed as a truck driver with Grady County District 2, a job that brought him much pride and enjoyment. He had also worked for Budlow's Wholesale, Glass RV, Braums Dairy and he worked for Badgett Corporation for 20 years. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a proud grandpa, and spoiling his grandsons was his favorite pastime. He was preceded in death by both parents, and one sister, Judy Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Johnson, of the home; son and daughter-in-law: Sean and Shelley Johnson; daughter and son-in-law: Tracy and Glenn Turner; three grandsons: Logan and Luke Johnson and Dalen Turner; brother and sister-in-law: Michael and Tina Johnson; seven sisters and brothers-in-law: Sue and Steve Base, Joyce and Gary Nichols, Janie Johnson, Diane and David Schmidt, Sandra and Andy Chaney, Kathy and Royce Ferrell, and Karen and Mike Lennier; numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends.
