© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Thursday, December 16, 2010 March 17, 1953 ~ December 11, 2010 Funeral service for Jerry Don Huggins, of Chickasha, will be held on Wednesday, Dec.15, at 1:30 p.m., in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ in Chickasha. Jerry Don Huggins was born March 17, 1953 in Chickasha to Virgil Newton Huggins and Mattie Pearl [Burnett] Huggins. He passed away December 11, 2010 in Chickasha, at the age of 57 years. He graduated from Chickasha High School in 1971. He had some college and then went to live with his Aunt Norma in Juneau, Alaska. He was there for a year as a Police Officer. He then went to the Chickasha Police Department. He retired after 25 years of service and later served six years with the Grady County Sheriff's Office. Jerry was CLEET Certified and he was also an Firearm's Instructor. He taught classes at Canadian Valley Vo-Tech and Ft. Cobb Vo-Tech on Firearm Safety. At one time he owned his own shooting range [R & R] named for his daughters, Ryan and Rikki. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a very strong supporter of the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil, on Oct. 16, 2010, his brother Robert, another brother Wayne and numerous Aunts and Uncles. Jerry is survived by his wife: Betty Rene' of the home in Chickasha; two daughters: Ryan Huggins Reece of Chickasha, and Rikki Huggins Jenkins of Chickasha; two sisters: Frances Atkins and her husband, Sam of Sulpher, Oklahoma and Patsy Huggins of Oklahoma City, Ok; Mother: Mattie Pearl Huggins of Chickasha; and five grandchildren: Chyenne Reece, Nathaniel Reece, Haylee Reece, Cyler Jenkins, Brynleigh Jenkins nterment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha, Oklahoma. |
