Brenda Jane [Adkins] Hood
July 17, 1949 ~ January 28, 2005


Graveside services for Brenda Adkins Hood, 55, of Chickasha, will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Brenda Jane Adkins Hood was born July 17, 1949, in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of Louis S. Adkins and the late Doris M. Perry Adkins. She died Friday, January 28, 2005, at her home in Chickasha.

Formerly of Chelmsford and Arlington, Massachusetts, she graduated from Brockton High School and later attended and graduated from Brockton High School and later attended and graduated from Mass General Hospital School of Nursing.

She worked as a School Nurse and later specialized in Geriatric.

She came to Chickasha in 1995 where she had been employed with Pelham Health Care, Shannon Springs Nursing Home and Lifeline Health Care. She retired in 1998 due to her health.

Survivors include her father, Louis Adkins, of Georgetown, Ohio; two daughters and son-in-law, Tamara and Robert Simmons and Jessica Edgecomb, both of Chickasha; two sisters, Patricia Lumsden of East Amherst, New York and Cheryl Boss, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts and three grandchildren, Shayne, Melanie and Kayla and several nieces and nephews.

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
