© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Friday, January 26, 2007 October 17, 1931 ~ January 23, 2007 Graveside service for James Edwin Hegwald, age 75, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2007, in Fairlawn Cemetery. Rev. Charles Bishop will officiate. James Edwin Hegwald was born the son of Jacob Hegwald and Hazel Curtis Hegwald on October 17, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri. He died on January 23, 2007, at his home in Chickasha. James grew up in Kansas. He entered the United States Air Force and served overseas in Korea. After the war, he returned to Oklahoma and lived in Waurika before moving to Chickasha. While in Chickasha, James worked for Colvert's Dairy and Virgin Lumberyard. When the Maremont plant opened in Chickasha, he began working as a chrome plater and tool and dye operator until his retirement. James attended the Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Nydia Irene Hegwald and one brother, Jack Hegwald. Survivors include: Daughter: Kathie Rodgers of Chickasha; Son: James Hegwald, Jr. of Chickasha; Son: Ronald Hegwald of Chickasha; Brother: Lester E. Hegwald of Washington State; Brother: Jacob L. Hegwald of Humboldt, Kansas; Brother: Ralph L. Hegwald of Chanute, Kansas; Mother of his children: Mary K. Hegwald of Chickasha; Life Companion: Beverly VanLaningham of Chickasha; Four Grandchildren. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
