James Garland Hartline was born December 23, 1930, in Russle, Okla., and died on Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at his home in Chickasha. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma August 28, 2004 December 23, 1930 ~ August 25, 2004 Graveside services for James "Garland" Hartline, Sr., 73, of Chickasha, will be held Saturday, August 28, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. in the Fairlawn Cemetery, in Chickasha, with Rev. Ed Whitley officiating. James Garland Hartline was born December 23, 1930, in Russell, Oklahoma, the son of Jim Hartline and Mollie Brown Riner Hartline. He died Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at his home in Chickasha. Garland married Patricia Looper on September 2, 1953, in Chickasha. They spent 46 wonderful years together. She preceded him in death on December 28, 1999. Garland worked in the oilfield for many years. He also worked as a licensed plumber. He also worked for Perdue Building. After his retirement, he avidly worked in his garden, sharing his produce with everyone. He would shell pecans from his yard and take them to the area nursing centers. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone when needed. He enjoyed going to little league baseball games and cheering the grandkids on. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law; Jimmy and Donna Hartline, of Amber, Oklahoma, Chuck and Phoebe Hartline, of Briscoe, Texas, Steve and Teresa Hartline, of Bethany, Oklahoma; four daughters and sons-in-law; Leona Gayle Haws, of Wichita Falls, Texas, Patti and Rick Hawthorn of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Beth and Ralph Hansbro, of Herber Springs, Arkansas, Robin Burke, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; two sisters ; Ima Jo Griggs, Irma Dee Johnson, both of Chickasha; 16 grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
