Arba H. Hale
April 15, 1896 ~ December 31, 1973


Funeral service for Arba H. Hale, 75, 1019 Ohio, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Brown's Funeral Home.

Mr. Hale was born April 15, 1896 in Le Roy, Kan. He came to Chickasha from Los Angeles in 1962 after retiring from the Flying Tiger Air Freight Company.

He was a veteran of World War I.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine on March 3, 1972.

Mr. Hale died Monday in Grady Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Edyth E. Smyer and Mrs. Reta Norvell of Wichita Falls, Tex., Mrs. Lydia Scurlock of Brownsville, Tex., Mrs. Ruth Lambers of Bowie, Tex.; one brother, Kenneth Barnes of Costa Mesa, Calif.; one uncle, Ira Nunemaker of Chickasha.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown's Funeral Home.

Martha Elizabeth "Libby" [Holt] Hale
February 6, 1926 ~ August 16, 2006


Funeral service for Martha Elizabeth "Libby" Hale, age 80 of Palmer, Alaska, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2006, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kim Hayes will officiate.

Mrs. Hale was born the daughter of Walter Franklin Holt and Nelle Metz Hellams Holt on February 6, 1926, in Dallas, Texas. She died on August 16, 2006, in Palmer, Alaska.

Martha was a fine southern lady who made everyone feel welcome in her home. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for people. She also loved to give people hugs. She expecially loved quilting and made many quilts for family members. Martha was a strong Christian and knew she would be going to heaven after her passing.

While in Chickasha, Martha was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. In 2003, she moved to Palmer, Alaska where she became a member of the First Baptist Church.

Martha married Hoke Bryan Hathcock on January 16, 1947. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1965. She married Arlen Hale in 1975, and he preceded her in death on January 6, 1998. She was also predeceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include: son: Frank Holt of Alaska; son: Edmond Hathcock of Colorado; son: David Hathcock of Nevada; daughter: Rebecca Jackson of Colorado; stepson: Don Hathcock of Arkansas; stepdaughter: Marilyn Duffy of Arizona; stepson: Purman Hale of California; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Many very close friends and neighbors in Chickasha, including Marilyn and Jim McCloskey.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 2689, Palmer, Alaska, 99645.
