Gilleland, 90, of Chickasha, at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Holly officiating. Montee H. Gilleland was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, the daughter of Park Martin Hill and Leno Samantha Andrews. She died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012. She grew up in Brookhaven, Mississippi, later moving to Logansport, Ind.. Montee finally landed and made her home in Oklahoma in 1964. Montee met and married William Patrick Vitello in Logansport, Ind., in 1957. She owned and operated a restaurant in Logansport, Ind. and later had a restaurant near Elgin, Okla. Montee retired in 1997. Montee enjoyed playing bingo and loved to go fishing. She will be missed by many friends and especially by her family. Montee was preceded in death by: both parents, husband William Patrick Vitello and one son David Patrick Vitello. Survivors include one daughter and son in-law; Caroline Jean and John Denton, of Fresno, Calif., and four sons and two daughters-in-law: James (Jimmy) Ray Young Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Owen Park (Buster) Gilleland of Elgin; Don and Susan Vitello of Chickasha and Mike and Lyneia Vitello of Midland, Texas. Montee is also survived by eight grandchildren: Tonia Turnbull and Johnny Denton, Traci Mulhausen, Heather Kennedy, Lisa Boswell, Logan, Brinson and Cason Vitello, and Syleste Johnson along with numerous great grandchildren. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
