August 7, 1926 ~ March 9, 2004


Funeral services for James Edward Gill, 78, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the Church of the Living God, the Pillar and Ground of the Trut. Elder Delbert Allen will officiate.

James Edward Gill was born August 7, 1926, in Chickasha, and died on Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at his home in Chickasha.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Brown/Christian Funeral Home.

Funeral services for James Edward Gill, 78, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of the Living God P.G. of T. Elder Delbert Allen will be the minister officiating.

James Edward Gill passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at his home in Chickasha surrounded by his family. James Will was born August 7, 1926, in Chickasha, to Willie Gill and Dora James Gill. He was the oldest of four children. He was a life-long resident of Chickasha. He attended Lincoln School, where he excelled as an athlete.

James married Alfretta Boardingham Gill on September 8, 1976, in El Reno, Oklahoma. He retired from General Motors Corporation in 1992. He was a faithful and active member of The Church of the Living God P.G. of T.

Survivors include his wife, Alfretta, of the home; two sons, Willie Gill of Oklahoma City, OK, and Michael D. Gill of the home; a brother, Henry Dee Gill of Columbia, MD; nephews, Raymond Richie of Duncan, OK, Mamsa Islam 0f Midwest City, OK, Tim Richie of Chickasha, OK, Eric Gill of Denver, OCO; nieces, Marilyn Jacobs of Florence, SC, and Eileen Steadman of Edmond, OK; he is also survived by many great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Troy Lee Gill and Steven Eugene Gill; brother, Robert Louis Stevenson; sister, Mildred Gill Richie; and nephew, Donald Lovell Richie.

Interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown/Christian Funeral Home.
