July 1, 1946 ~ July 9, 2001


Funeral service for Nelda Elaine Craddock Franklin, 55, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2001, at the First Baptist Church of Ninnekah.

Nelda Elaine Craddock Franklin was born July 1, 1946, in Lindsay, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elton Carby and Nelda June [Terry] Craddock, and died Monday, July 9, 2001, in Ninnekah.

Elaine was raised in Alex. She graduated from Alex High School in 1964 and attended Oklahoma College for Women. She lived in Garland, Texas, for almost 35 years and had lived in Ninnekah for the last 12 months due to illness.

She and Myles J. Franklin were married November 23, 1966, in Alex, Oklahoma, at the Methodist Church.

Elaine worked for 35 years at Texas Utilities. She began in the personnel department, later worked in the insurance department, and the forestry department as supervisor. She then worked as construction coordinator and was currently working as a construction analyst.

She was preceded in death by: grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Clint Terry, Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Craddock; father: Elton Craddock Sr.; brother: Randall Kent Craddock.

Survivors include: husband: Myles J. Franklin of Garland, Texas; 1 son: Mark Kevin Franklin and wife, Marsha, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; 1 daughter: Mysti Lynn Hale and husband, Bryan, of Frisco, Texas; mother: Nelda June Craddock, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; 1 brother: Elton "Bud" Craddock Jr., of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Denise Ann Craddock Spencer of Ft. Worth, Texas; 2 grandchildren: Austin and Lindy Hale.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
