© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, December 18, 1963 Ray Louis Flick September 4, 1926 ~ December 11, 1963 Eakly Couple's Kin Is Killed In Fall From Derrick Funeral services were held Saturday morning at a Chickasha Funeral Home for Ray Louis Flick of Chickasha. He was a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Chambers, Eakly. Flick was killed about 6:30 a.m. last Wednesday, about 3 miles east of Blanchard when an oil well derrick on which he was working, collapsed. He was 37 years of age. Rev. Raymond McDowell, pastor of the College Heights Baptist church officiated. Interment was in Fairlawn cemetery. Ray Louis Flick, son of Lawrence and Olive Flick was born September 4, in Stillwater, and had lived in Chickasha eight years. An oil field worker for most of his adult years. He was also a Navy veteran of four years in World War II. He attended College Heights Baptist church, was a member of Hurst-Beaton American Legion Post No. 54, Masonic lodge and the Chickasha Order of Eastern Star. He was married in 1956 to Melba Deevers and to this union was born one son, Kelly Franklin. Besides his wife, Melba and son Kelly, of the home in Chickasha, he is also survived by a step-son, Lynn, of the home, three children by a former marriage, Kathleen, Teresa and Stephen of California, his father, L.O. Flick of Perkins, three brothers, Olis and Lyle Flick of Canyon City, Colo., Wayne Flick of Montana and one sister, Francis Dodge of Fallon, Nevada. Two infant sisters and his mother preceded him in death. Mrs. Flick is the former Melba Chambers. Her parents Mr. and Mrs. Everett Chambers live in Eakly. |
