© The Chickasha Express-Star Wednesday, February 7, 2007 November 14, 2012 Jerry Wayne Evans February 17, 1939 ~ November 11, 2012 Funeral service for Jerry Wayne Evans, age 73 of Grand Prairie, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Jerry was born to Samuel Woodson Evans and Winnifred Robins Evans on February 17, 1939 in Perry. He passed from this life on November 11, 2012 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Jerry graduated from Chickasha High School in 1956. He received his bachelors and masters degrees from The University of Oklahoma, continued further graduate work in mathematics at New Mexico State University, and carried on a life long pursuit of learning. His career took him to Las Cruces, NM, Washington, DC and finally Dallas, Texas. Jerry was an endowed member of Pentagon Lodge 1080, and a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Winnifred Evans. Survivors include daughter: Angela L. Evans of Sandy Springs, Geo.; grandson: Grayson J. Goerdel of Sandy Springs, Ge.; granddaughter: Charlotte W. Goerdel of Sandy Springs, Geo.; sister and husband: Robyn and Tom Lambrecht of Norman; sister and husband: Sammye & Wayne Martin of Garland, Texas; nephews: Mark Lambrecht, Brad Lambrecht, Douglas Martin, Dennis Martin and their families. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Jerry Evans to Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 105, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. |
