Zada [Shrader] Eakes
September 23, 1925 ~ November 21, 2015


Graveside services for Zada [Shrader] Eakes, 90, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma with Brother Bill Dickey officiating.

Zada [Shrader] Eakes was born September 23, 1925 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma to Hubert Mitchell Shrader and Bessie [Tankersley] Shrader.

She died Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Zada grew up in Chickasha and in 1942, she married William Cowan and they had three daughters, Frieta, Coleta and Vonieta. In 1950, she married George Burris and had two sons and a daughter, George Hollis, Craig Anthony, and Ramona Jane.

During the time she was raising her children, she studied nursing and achieved her LPN degree and went to work as a nurse.

In 1971, Zada married Connie Eakes and also entered college to obtain her RN degree. After becoming an RN, she continued to work in the nursing field which she did for over 40 years.

She enjoyed painting and quilting. She and her husband, Connie, ranched and worked cattle for many years.

Zada was preceded in death by her husbands, George Burris and Connie Eakes and by her sons, George Hollis Burris and Craig Anthony Burris.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Frieta and James Battistoni of Ft. Worth, Texas, Coleta and James Estep of Shady Point, Vonieta and Dan Stogner of McLoud, and Jane and Gary Patterson of Moore; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Services and interment in Fairlawn Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Clyde Eugene Rollins
September 18, 1924 ~ June 22, 2011


Clyde Eugene Rollins, Sr, 86, of Oklahoma City OK, died June 22, 2011. at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City from complications following pneumonia.

The fifth of nine children, he was born on September 18, 1924, in an oil field tent in Burbank, OK, the son of the late Thomas and Lula [Burns] Rollins.

Following graduation from Pioneer School in 1942, Clyde enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a diesel mechanic on the USS Amick DE-168 in the Mediterranean during World War II.

Following the War, Clyde returned to Oklahoma, and in 1952 he married Doris Annetta Eakes of Ninnekah OK and raised 6 children.

Mr. Rollins attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater OK, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; however, his heart was in teaching and he taught school in Quay and Red Rock OK before moving to Oklahoma City where he taught 6th grade science at Western Oaks Elementary in the Putnam City School District for 23 years. He obtained his Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1970.

Upon retirement from teaching, Clyde farmed 160 acres near Cement OK. A hard worker, Mr. Rollins always supplemented his family's income through parttime jobs as a railroad fireman, hay hauler, brick mason, loading dock worker, YMCA Day Camp Director, horse stables operator at Roman Nose State Park in Watonga OK, owner and operator of the Triple R Ranch, among other jobs.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Eakes Rollins; his eldest daughter, Annetta Gaye Harmon; brothers Max, Ray, Ed, Don, Harry, Dale;, and sister Ida.

A loving father, he is survived by sons Clyde Eugene Rollins, Jr., and wife Ruby of Yukon OK and Thomas Edward Rollins II of Oklahoma City; daughters Ellen Ginnett Rollins and Crystal Gerree Rollins of Oklahoma City, and Ida Gail Gray of Ninnekah; brother Bob Rollins of Prescott AZ; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
