Denney, 84, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2005, at the First Baptist Church, Chickasha. Rowena C. Denney was born January 16, 1920, and died January 9, 2005. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma 12 January 2005 Rowena C. Denney January 16, 1920 ~ January 9, 2005 Funeral service for Rowena C. Denney, 84, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2005, at the First Baptist Church. Rowena C. Denney, loving aunt, great aunt and Mimi, was born January 16, 1920, the daughter of W. J. and Nellie [Asbury] Osburn, and died January 9, 2005, in Chickasha. Rowena, a lifetime resident of Grady County, worked for Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Department for over 20 years. She also served as Grady County Election Board secretary for many years. Rowena and her husband, Burnis, farmed west of Pocasset. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star, and Philo Mathis Club. Rowena was preceded in death by her husband, Burnis Denney, in 1983; three brothers, Earl Osborn, June Osborn, and Ray Osborn; one sister, Fern Simpson, and a niece, Karolyn Pool. She is survived by her nephews; Steve Simpson, Steve Pool, Stan Pool, Jimmy Ray Osborn, and Gene Osborn; with her greatest delight as Mimi to Zack Pool, Tanner Pool, Frannie Pool, Eli Pool, and Emme Reid. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
