© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma October 8, 1962 James Vernon Davis November 25, 1918 ~ October 7, 1962 James Vernon Davis, 43, Star Route, Alex, was born November 25, 1918 in Fillmore, Okla. He moved to the Chickasha area in 1943 and was an employee of the Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in the Hawkins community where he served as song leader. [He is] survived by [his] parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Davis, Chickasha; three brothers, Coy Davis, Oklahoma City; Ollie Davis, Sacramento, Calif and Allen Davis, Ontario, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. James Chaney and Mrs. Bonnie Terry, Chickasha, and Mrs. Bernice Dawson, Dallas. James Davis is also survived by his wife, Janie Davis, one son, Kenneth Don, and three daughters, Shirley, Donna and Connie of the home address and a daughter, Jeanette, of Arizona, and three grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier's Funeral Home. |
