Culberson, 91, of Chickasha will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 8, 2007, in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Kim Domnick officiating. Cleo was born June 1, 1915, in Cisco, Texas. She died February 6, 2007, in Chickasha. She came to Oklahoma as a young girl. She attended Cement [Cottonwood] Public Schools. Coming to Chickasha in 1937, Cleo fell in love with the town. She enjoyed the community, the work, and the wonderful people. So Chickasha is where her and her husband decided to settle down and raise their son. Cleo was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a born caregiver, loving and caring for everyone, especially children. She worked at Epworth United Methodist Pre-School as a teacher caregiver for several years. She blessed the lives of many children, holding a special place in her heart for each and every child she cared for. She was active in her church and volunteered for many of the church events and activities. She loved her church family and openly offered her love to each of them. Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Culberson; both parents; one brother; and one sister. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law: Don and Mary Compton, of Bossier City, Louisiana; two granddaughters and husband: Donna and Terry Ogburn, of Chickasha; and Teri Compton, of Houston, Texas; grandson and wife: Mike and Mary Compton, of Friendswood, Texas; four great- grandchildren: Kara Ogburn, of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Chris, Ben, and Amanda Compton, all of Friendswood, Texas. There will be no public viewing. Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
