© Eisenhour Funeral Home Blanchard, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 3, 2013 April 14, 1930 ~ April 3, 2013 Funeral service for Charles Wesley Cormany, 82 of Blanchard, were held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Blanchard. Interment followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. Arrangements were under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. Charles Cormany was born April 14, 1930 in Oklahoma City to George Wesley and Nanny Lorena [Slawson] Cormany and died April 3, 2013 at his home. He lived in the Sayre and Frederick area until his early teenage years and then moved to Healdton where he graduated in 1948. He and Connie Joyce Bickerstaff were married in Bellflower, California on October 2, 1953. They moved to Oklahoma in 1954. He drove a truck and worked a number of years in the oilfield. He also owned a fertilizer business in Blanchard and he and his wife owned and operated Cormany's Laundrette in Blanchard for 43 years. He worked for Pet Foods in Chickasha for 15 years, but his biggest enjoyment was hunting and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Blanchard; one son, Charles Randal Cormany and wife, Betty, of Paoli; two daughters, Trudy Cormany Newsom and husband, James, of Norman and Connie Cormany Budd and husband, Tom, of Stillwater; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one brother, David Cormany and wife, Cindy, of Wilson; two sisters, Carolyn Thompson and Pat Weatherley, both of Healdton; and many other loved ones and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Wesley Cormany, Jr.; a brother, Wayne Cormany; and a nephew David Wesley Cormany. |
© Eisenhour Funeral Home Blanchard, Oklahoma June 11, 2017 Joyce Cormany May 05, 1934 ~ June 11, 2017 Connie Joyce Cormany, 83, longtime resident of Blanchard, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Oklahoma City. The daughter of Connie Leon Bickerstaff and Florence Gertrude [Bryant] Bickerstaff, she was born May 5, 1934 in Waurika, Oklahoma. She graduated from Excelsior High School in Bellflower, California in 1952. Joyce married Charles Wesley Cormany in Bellflower, California on October 2, 1953 and they moved to Oklahoma in 1954. Joyce and Charles owned and operated Cormany's Laundrette in Blanchard for 43 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Blanchard. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was a great cook and was always trying new recipes. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Howard and Harold Bickerstaff; and one sister, Marilyn Parker. Survivors include her two daughters, Connie Budd and her husband, Tom, of Cushing and Trudy Newsom and her husband, James, of Norman; one son, Randal Cormany and his wife, Betty, of Paoli; six grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Simpson and her husband, Boyd, of Noble and Nelda Richardson and her husband, Howard, of Amber; one brother, Henry Bickerstaff and his wife, Sharon, of Ninnekah; one sister-in-law, Betty Bickerstaff, of California; one brother-in-law, Horace Parker and his wife, Carolyn, of Ninnekah; and many other loved ones and friends. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Blanchard. Interment will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. Memorial donations may be made in Joyce's name to the Blanchard Church of Christ, 1220 North Madison Avenue, Blanchard, OK 73010 to benefit widows and orphans.
