© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma January 28, 2005 Ourelia Ann [Thompson] Copeland December 7, 1928 ~ January 26, 2005 Funeral service for Ourelia Copeland, 76, of Chickasha will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Ourelia Copeland was born December 7, 1928 in Boyd, Texas the daughter of W. O. Thompson, Sr. and Irene [Reynolds] Thompson and died January 26, 2005 in Chickasha. She moved to Chickasha when she was three days old and lived here all her life. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1947. She lived for her kids and grandkids. She loved to fish and play bingo with friends. Ourelia enjoyed sewing and cooked and crocheted for everyone. She loved country and bluegrass music. Ourelia worked as a waitress in the 1950s at the White Dot Cafe. She was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Ourelia was active in the CHS Class of '47 activities. She was known by 'Lucky' to many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth H. Copeland, Sr., in June of 1977; and sister, Orwellene Spearman. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth H. Copeland, Jr. of Chickasha and Tommy Copeland and wife Cassie of Elk City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Cindy Bird and husband Gary of Moore, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, W. O. Thompson, Jr. and wife Terry of Enid, Oklahoma; one sister, Laureta Foster and husband J. D. of LaFeria, Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
