© The Hays Daily News Hayes Kansas December 31, 1998 Pete Donald "Sonny" Cochran October 22, 1935 ~ December 29, 1998 Pete Donald Cochran, 63, 1605 E. 22nd, died Tuesday, December 29, 1998, at his home. He was born October 22, 1935, in Tabler, Okla., to Patrick Henry and Mary Magdalene [Scoggins] Cochran. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Shirley A. Davis on April 15, 1961, in Chickasha, Okla. He had been a Hays resident since 1968, coming from Wichita. He worked for Baxter-Travenol Laboratories, Hays, as a comptroller for 18 years. He and his wife owned Franklin Craft Center, Hays, purchasing the store in 1985. Survivors include his wife, of the home, three sons, Michael Craig, La Crosse, Christopher Wade, Plainville, and Barry William, of the home; a daughter, Kimberly Dawn [Cochran] Hendrix, Hays; four sisters, Anna Mae Hart, Lindsey, Okla., Eva Jo Cochran and Juanita Cook, both of Chickasha, Okla., and Catherine Dulaney, Hobbs, N.M.; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack N., William K., and Henry, a sister, Ruby Lee Chambers, and an infant sister, Pearl Cochran. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Okla. with military honors by the Grady County VFW. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd.
